Paul's mother Mary died of cancer when he was a child. She came to him in a dream with the words "Let It Be". John Lennon's mother also died when he was young too. He wrote the lovely song "Julia" for her.

When everyone was arguing in Paul's house when he was kid, his mum used to say, "Let it be.' It was her gentle way of telling everyone off and to get on. She died when he was about 14 and he was obviously heart broken. The Beatles were arguing a lot when he wrote this 1969.
