Hey Guys
I hope you'll enjoy this video, it was really fun making it. I always enjoy myself making these riff battles, so comment down below if you'd like to see more of those.
Unfortunately, I'm so stupid, I forgot to check the resolution of the camera before recording and I made the video with the lowest resolution available on my phone 🤦‍♂️
Yes I know, dumb as f*ck. But still I hope the song will make it up to it, though.
Don't forget to Subscribe and Like this video if you haven't already. I know most of my viewers aren't yet subscribed, so what are you waiting for, man? C'mon.
And of course, if you wish to have one on one Skype lessons with me and be part of my program, e-mail me at: leonardoluxmusic@gmail.com
Also, a huge thanks to my beautiful girlfriend @_beatrizubeda (IG) for another kickass corpse paint and for always supporting me ❤ she's an incredible artist
I'll see you in the next video! 🤘

Yeah, but on the other hand also not. You would never find something like Dm - B♭m - Dm - C♯m in any of those composers' works, especially not with all the parallel movement. Renaissance, perhaps, early modern classical music, perhaps. But really, those approaches owe much more to blues and its descendant genres than to the classical lineage, although the æsthetics have moved completely away from blues.

I think this sort of thing would work WITH vocals, too: I can imagine Bathory or even King Diamond or Manowar doing just that with clear vocals, chants and choirs and that sort of thing - see the first bit of Bathory's "A Fine Day to Die" for example, or Manowar's "Bridge of Death": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lc2YfbSrs6rNmHU.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/idaBjZieq76WhGg.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f7x9o6RmvJOZnGg.html Of course, these guys usually "spoil" it by using these moodier undistorted bits as intros leading into more traditional metal songs, but I bet Therion or Ihsahn could easily have pulled something like a whole album of that sort of thing off with a label/studio blessing if they'd wanted to, and aside from label/studio support, there's no reason a more straightforward death or black metal band couldn't make it work, either. Hell, someone supported a performance of Entombed's "Clandestine" album by an orchestra and choir with Entombed, a similar idea, why not an "unplugged" guitar-driven death or black metal album? (The introduction by the composer is cool, but the music actually starts about 16 minutes in): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r7OUfsl1sLPLZIU.html

Clean Black metal is so relaxing. I forget his name, but there’s a KZfaqr who did a a mashup of a bunch of black metal songs on a classical guitar. It was honestly so beautiful sounding. It really gives a new appreciation for the genre. I bet if you played that for a non metal listener you wouldn’t get the typical “that’s just a bunch of noise”. Metal as a whole is such a misunderstood genre. Whenever people ask me questions about it, I always try to explain that l, yes, it’s aggressive and angry sounding, but its the musicians themselves and what they’re capable of. I try my best to explain a lot of the technicalities behind it, how much time, dedication and practice it takes to be able to play a lot of complex things. Even just for vocals (I’m a metal vocalist), they dont believe I can growl and stuff, so I demonstrate it. They ask if it hurts and, I explain the biological aspect of it what what it takes to properly train and care for your and voice and that there are certain techniques behind the sounds, they’re not just yelling their heads off. I always ask “do you know about throat singing?” Then tell them it’s kind of like a more intense version of that. Not exactly, but there are a lot of similarities. And I also go into how you need to do a lot of the same stuff as any normal singer, if not more because of the nature of what vocalists do. It doesn’t make them like the music, but a lot of people walk away intrigued and with a new perspective of the genre. I sometimes tell them it’s like therapy. It’s a healthy and artistic way of dealing with negative emotions. I forget who, but someone used the the term “controlled aggression.” I ask “would you rather your kid go commit crimes or become a mean and angry person, or hangout in a room with some people and make some noise together then leave happy?”

Seems like in my experience that it's partly the reputation of metal as "just noise that makes people delete themselves", partly the "it's different so I hate it" effect, and mostly the distortion that are hard obstacles for most people to clear... when you strip away the cookie-monster vocals, double-kick drums, and guitar effects, people seem surprised that it's actually pretty complex and beautiful music after all, even if they can't dance and sing along to it. The number of times I've heard "normies" mistake the cleaner examples of symphonic, gothic, or avantgarde metal for "Mozart" or "Beethoven" kinda astounds me, and then the looks on their faces when I say "no, that's not Mozart, that's just metal..."

@l burzum is one of my favourite bands already! As for metallica, I am not that much into them, they have some good songs and that's it, maybe not that much into thrash myself. i mostly listen to black metal, death and power metal, and other genres, mainly dance pop, some EDM and eastern music, some classical music and some old school rap, I hate the vast majority of new rap and djent, and absolutely hate ballad pop, boring as fuck. New metal is good though! I was very satisfied with last year releases, better than this year, especially death metal bands, many great albums from last year. But for me still nothing beats melodic metal with a ton of clean guitar, like agalloch for example, not only black but death too, belakor is a great example for me too, I am not that into doom but I think i will try some more to see
