#WakandaForever #Spoilers #EndingExplained
This ending set up a black panther 3 that is going to be wakanda Versus the rest of the world, that may kick off as soon as phase 5 with the thunderbolts. We’re going to tell you how that’s going to happen, explain who is ruling wakanda now, and what the MCUY as planned for T’Challa’s son, T’Challa jr.
But first let's with that amazing credit scene, we have to explain everything about T'Challa’s son, and what this might mean for the future.
At the end of the movie, Shuri travels to Nakia’s home in Haiti, she’s finally able to burn her funeral clothes. A ceremony that allows her to say goodbye to her brother, signaling that she’s ready to move on from her grief and feelings of guilt.
This emotional scene closes the movie, but it then leads to Wakanda Forever’s credit scene. After Shuri performs the ceremony, she’s approached by Nakia-and her’s and T'Challa’s son-who is also named Prince T’Challa.
This reveal is such an emotionally gratifying conclusion for a very powerful human story.
This is both a heartbreaking goodbye to Chadwick Boseman and T'Challa. But at the same time it’s a heartwarming conclusion for Shuri’s arc in Wakanda Forever. For her to meet her nephew after all the things she has been through in the movie feels so gratifying. It’s really the perfect way to end this powerful story.
Just when she thought she had no family left, Nakia appears with T'Challa’s son.
Nakia raised prince T'Challa in Haiti, far away from Wakanda. She kept his existence a secret from everyone, except queen Ramonda.
Judging by the child’s age, he was likely born shortly before or after the snap, around 2018. That means he’s about 5 or 6 years old.
Real quick before we explain why the kid was kept a secret, we got to mention T'Challa’s son in the comics. His name is Azari.
But Azari’s mother isn’t Nakia, it’s Ororo Munroe aka Storm from the X-Men. She and T'Challa had a really complicated relationship in the comics.
Azari doesn’t exist in Earth-616 thigh, that’s the main Marvel universe continuity, like in the MCU.
He comes from an alternate post-apocalyptic world, where he’s part of the Next Avengers, a team of the children of the Avengers. Ultron destroys the world, they fight him-it’s a great read.
Clearly the MCU is going in a different direction.
T'Challa and Nakia agreed that it would be better to raise their son in Haiti, away from the pressure of the throne. At least until he’s ready to assume the responsibilities of king and protector of Wakanda. T'Challa was raised in Wakanda all of his life, the heir to the throne since birth, that shaped his life.
Nakia says that it was T'Challa’s choice for her not to come to his funeral, that it wasn’t time yet to reveal young T'Challa.
This must be because T'Challa wanted his son to get a different chance at life, to forge his own path, and once he assumes the throne, he can be a better king than any who came before him. Because he will grow outside of Wakanda, and be able to understand the world better, and one day be the bridge between their people.
Remember, young T'Challa was born shortly after his father fought Killomonger, and this must have shaped his decision. T'Challa realized that Wakanda can no longer stay closed off to the rest of the world, he saw his father’s mistakes.
Also, Wakanda was in a state of chaos during that time. The nation was just recovering from Killmonger’s mini civil war, and shortly after Thanos happened.
Both T'Challa and Shuri were gone, along with half of life in the universe. Losing both the king and the princess at such a difficult time meant that Wakanda.
If Nakia would have revealed T'Challa’s son to Wakanda after the snap,
it might have given the nation the hope they so desperately needed at the time.
But this would also immediately put him right at the center of everything, with the people of Wakanda seeing him as their future king.

@@michiganmonsters01 - I don't think he was presented as a villain in the first film. To me, it felt like he was presented as the opposite to Killmonger, with T'Challa stuck in the middle. M'Baku made it clear from his first appearance that he is a man who takes tradition very seriously, in contrast with Killmonger who was all "fuck tradition, we need to do whatever is necessary". They represented the two extremes that T'Challa was trying to navigate between. His development in WF felt, to me, like he was also feeling the loss of T'Challa and, with some difficulty, was moving away from his extreme position to somewhere a bit more moderate, doing his part to fill some of the void T'Challa left behind

It's a good idea from a legacy standpoint but from a story standpoint it's a bit disappointing. It diminishes Shuri's journey in this movie as the new Black Panther because it's already adressing her replacement. I also feel like naming him T'Challa makes it hard to see him a his own person and not as some kind of reincarnation of his father.

The people of the surface world didn't kill Namor's mom. She died of old age, but died heartbroken that her people were driven from the land and the home that they loved. Just left the theater and I loved it! It was a beautiful epic of a film. I cried far too often. The T’Challa stuff hit so much harder with the unfortunate reality of it. Angela Bassett’s performance was insanely good. She had such a presence and completely dominated every scene she was in. Also really liked Namor’s portrayal and looking forward to him popping up in future things. Main question I was left with was Riri’s origin but I guess they’re saving that for her series.

@@BeboMofongo03 Years and years? Since she wasn't in this film I don't see a good place for her to appear until after Avengers Secret Wars that come out in 2026. They could introduce her in a Disney+ series, but would you. But regardless the introduction of Storm doesn't have to wait if they magically age T Jr. up. But you are right that to keep the storyline that they grew-up together it would have to be years yet. Maybe they magical age T Jr. to 18 or so and that's when he and Orra meet? Interestingly, I just watched an interview and it was stated that the original script that had T'Challa alive also had a son being introduced at the end. So Marvel always had plans for a son in the MCU. I just wonder will they keep that characters story to what they envisioned or weave in some points they had planed on for T'Challa.

I see this as a three act structure starting with Captain America: New World Order leading to The Thunderbolts and ending with Armor Wars. Daredevil: Born Again will probably play a major role as they could have Yelena, Bucky, or Taskmaster showing up in that with The DoDC. That will end with Spider-Man 4.
@Linator4
@Linator4 Жыл бұрын
I think the Thunderbolts could definitely connect to NWO & Secret Invasion somehow. I wouldn’t mind Punisher appearing given his relationship to Cap & link to the Thunderbolts & Armor Wars in the comics. I’d like to see him interact with USAgent & Baron Zemo. Someone like Valentina or Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross will probably fill the political Norman Osborn role & take over the government + the DODC. They target Skrulls & Mutants (like Namor & Ms. Marvel) and possibly launch the Sentinel Program. They could start the Thunderbolt Initiative using villains/anti-heroes in the Raft & make the Cube their HQ. Ross could initiate Siege on New Asgard or Wakanda which leads to Talokan & the Avengers getting involved. The government could outcast the Avengers & they can make the frozen celestial from Eternals their new hideout. As for DD & Spider-Man, I’d like to see them stay street-level. I’d love to see Matt Murdock and possibly Jessica Jones or Frank Castle cameo in the Spidey trilogy. Eventually Spidey, Kate Bishop, Echo, Punisher, & the Defenders could team up in a crossover. Dark Reign could be the threat to the New Avengers on an international scale. Meanwhile they could make Kingpin the big bad against the Heroes for Hire on the local street-level scale. Fisk can swindle his way out of Rykers prison after Born Again, become mayor, hire Sable International as his private security, & start a gang war with other top NY villains like Mr. Negative, Hobgoblin, Tombstone, Kilgrave, Bullseye, The Hand, Hammerhead, Tracksuit Mafia etc.

Wow, you just made me think of a similarity to Chadwick’s burial. In November of 2020, months after he died, I was in his hometown of Anderson, South Carolina for my then partners family thanksgiving. We decided to go visit his grave. At the top of the cemetery there is a large plot with multiple Boseman’s buried there, yet not one grave mentioned Chadwick’s name. We walked the entirety of the cemetery just to double check and out of curiosity. One of the largest stones in the Boseman plot simply says “Boseman” and at the time it looked relatively new. I also know that Chadwick would study and read books about African cultures and practices. Perhaps, some of this Zulu tradition you mentioned was part of the reason to leave his full name off of the marker.

I hope Shuri can stay as the Black Panther because her character deserves it. Her whole family has died and it would give Marvel another female WOC a lead superhero role. Not only that but I enjoyed seeing her dawn the suit. It gives closure to Shuri as she can now carry on the title. I understand maybe T'Challa's son can carry the mantle later if or when they decide to age the character up, and I know it is very difficult on how they want to change the character. I think it would be easier to keep Shuri because no one would argue over the idea that they are "recasting" or "replacing" T'Challa with his son or another actor.

They most likely will keep Shuri as BP for a while. They already established the Namor and BP rivalry/partnership in Wakanda Forever so we will most likely see them again show up together in other MCU films and series. I think Shuri might be the most powerful BP yet (as will the succeeding BPs after her) because she seems to have gotten a power boost (aside from the reg BP powers) from taking the Talocan/Wakanda hybrid version of the heart shaped herb. She looks like she got an even quicker accelerated healing power since she recovered fast from that spear to her gut. She’s probably doubled her strength too since she was able to go 1 to 1 with Namor. I would love to see Shuri as one of the main Avengers moving forward. I think she deserves that spot.

5:01 that is unlikely. Wakanda would not abide a boy king. Someone would have ruled as regent until the boy came of age likely Ramonda or M'Baku. Same happened in the comics continuity when T'Chaka was assassinated and T'Challa's uncle S'Yan ruled as regent and Black Panther until T'Challa(and Shuri) was old enough to challenge for the mantle. In that time, young T'Challa son of T'Challa would complete many rites of passage and do walkabouts in and around Wakanda, perhaps even study abroad using a secret identity. These are all things T'Challa did in the comics so the precedent is there.

Yes, but SHURI IS NEXT IN LINE FOR THE THRONE. The days of male title inheritance ended in 2013 in the UK (Gender Equity Law or "The Downton Law" was passed), and they NEED to also end in any movie portraying ANY kind of equality. Women can and should inherit equally now, which means the boy should be a prince until QUEEN Shuri dies.

Yeah, that actually made zero sense to me. It causes too many problems. Why would T'Challa allow his son to grow up outside of Wakanda without bodyguards (besides his mother who isn't always watching him)? Why would Nakia risk her life to save Shuri knowing she has a son and is his only parent? T'Challa and Nakia never married, but they want their son to come back and be king? If M'Baku becomes king, then his sons are now in line to take the throne. Will they just step aside for T'Challa's son? They created a great feel good moment introducing the son, but made a huge illogical mess in the process.
@HercuLync
@HercuLync Жыл бұрын
@@marylandgirl9246 They are raising T'Challa's son in secret. Shuri and Nakia are the only people left alive that know of his existence. T'Challa knew he was dying and hid him to protect him from the Wakandan power struggle. Nakia risked her life because the queen told her to. Ramonda knew about baby T'Challa and would have seen to it that he was cared for. She is his grandmother after all. M'Baku's children vs T'Challa upon his return will be interesting. Shuri agreed to let M'Baku be king before learning of T'Challa's son. Hiding the son of the king during a time of uncertainty is not at all unheard of in real life. Seems fairly rational.

Val or Thunderbolt Ross could take over the government & the DODC as a political figure after Secret Invasion to target Mutants & Skrulls. They could launch Siege on Wakanda instead of New Asgard leading to the New Avengers getting involved & being outcasted + replaced by the Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers. I also would like to see Punisher appear on New World Order given his relationship to Cap in the comics. He also temporarily links with the Thunderbolts & takes part in Armor Wars, so that’s something they could explore.
