Okay, Satele wasn't there when Malgus sacked Coruscant because she was actually at the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, a cease fire arranged between the Empire and the Republic, which was taking place in a neutral location in space. Malgus attacked the Jedi Temple and held Coruscant hostage to force the Republic into much less favorable terms (ceding many Republic planets to the Empire) during negotiants. Niko Orr (Kenny) is encountered in the Fallen Empire, Eternal Throne expansions. The Mandalorian seen with Malgus in the sacking of Coruscant is Shea Vizla, someone you've already met, if you've played through the Shadow of Reven storyline (the one directly proceeding KotFE). You continue to work with her throughout the following expansions as well. The short answer to why Malgus returns after being defeated (twice, actually) earlier in the game is: Sith Alchemy. Sa'har Kateen (the Twi'lek from the final cinematic), her brother, and Malgus all play large roles in the current expansion, Legacy of the Sith. As to why this hasn't been made into a move (live action being the more cost effective adaptation) or a streaming series, your guess is as good as mine. People have been clamoring for a movie (previous to streaming services, folks petitioned HARD for an CGI movie) almost since the game's release in 2011. My own, personal speculation -- in the beginning it was because SW:ToR was the most expensive video game ever made for many years, and making a movie at the same technical level as the cinematics would have been extremely cost (and time) intensive (Blur Studios makes insanely good short form movie-lets, but it takes hella-cash, and several years for 4-10 minutes of content). Now that Disney owns the Star Wars IP -- could they make a series set in the Old Republic? Heck yeah they could. But that would be delving into deep cut legends territory, something they've historically been unwilling to do (once previous SW lore was chucked, screaming, into the void). There were even plans around 2019 (according to KK) for adapting a live action movie (or series of movies) in this time period (moving it forward about two thousand years) --- such plans may or may not be kicking around in some fledgling screenwriter's ID10T drawer. But after how Solo was received, and with Disney+ hemorrhaging profit potential like gutted fish, *and* their theme parks no longer guaranteeing making up the difference -- wellllllll. Malgus was hiding his true power from his master. Once his master went down, he stopped holding back. Note how despite how much he was thrown around, he was completely unscathed in that first battle.

This was the first time the sith were back in teh galaxy proper in 1000 years. The battlemaster never before had faced any sith. The jedi were used to fighting normal republic enemies like cartel criminals and the like. They were caught off guard by a legion of fully trained darkside warriors.

Kao Cen used Trakata in the first cinematic. It's considered a dishonorable Saber technique used by the SITH. It's where you turn the Saber on and off during combat to deceive your enemy. You can spot that at 11:10. He turns the back Saber off, spins and switches it back on to stab the Sith Lord backward.

Between the time of the game and the time of the prequal films era, there was an era called the Russan Reformation. Disney might have taken to calling the post Russan time period, The High Republic. Anyway, the republic demilitarized itself during this time so that by the time of the prequals there was no longer any republic wide military forces. This is why a brand new grand army of the republic had to be created from scratch.

First trailer: In my understanding - titles Darth appreciate Master etc do not reflect you "state" of power in the force just how high you get with that power but I think malgus with 2vs1 duel wanted this battle master to kill his master because maybe overtaking your master in with world is pretty common but direct murder with witnesses without trail or proper reason and his master (Darth Vindican btw.) needed to be removed for malgus to grow higher in hierarchy. This is shown in warrior and Inquisitor story line in this game. ✌️😊

simply put, jedi fight together as 1, so 2 jedi are always stronger than 1. sith on the other hand fight alone, having a master and apprentice fight together causes them to get in each others way. in addition to this the dark side feeds off emotion, so malgus got stronger and lost his handicap when his master was killed.

Duel of Fates FTW! And you are 100% right. THIS is what the movies should be like. But not live action. High end CGI like this all the way. They can do things that live action can't. The choreography alone can be done no where near this level with live action. Sadly, it would never be cost prohibitive. These trailers cost millions a piece to make.
