Lets just highlight this: Mel is 46, never married, no children, and dating history which consists of pretty much ballplayers and rappers, talking about the fact of what her and her other single girlfriends sit and discuss about their dating life. 1. He 100% said "love you at your WORTH" 2. How are women so confused as to why Tyler would be directing his words towards BW. Yes, his sentiment id applicable to every race, but he has made a career of speaking to both black men and women with his plays and movies. He's speaking to his community about things he see in his community.

We arent confused. We just said, F*ck Outta Here! These bums r always looking for black women to be there come up woman. And then it's a thankless position, at that. Yall dusty's dont even be grateful. Most bw are the breadwinners in their homes, meaning, they are more than likely ALREADY taking care of a "man", yet, look at how they do nothing but trash bw or LET bw be trashed knowing damn well they wouldnt have a roof over their head or food in their belly's if it werent for a black woman, yet they will us get trashed mercilessly by males who dont do sh*t for nobody, incl their damn selves.

Then why not listen to the WOMEN in his community about what their struggles and needs are. As a rich man YOU DONT TELL A BW HOW TO OR WHAT TO DO with their money, hearts, bodies nor emotions, without at least having a 2-Sided conversation. He did say at your worth.... BUT IF THE WOMAN´S WORTH IS NOT NEXT TO A BROKE ASS.... WHO IS HIM TO TELL HIM WHATEVER?? This why as men, you are never beating the allegations of mistreating your own.

I grew up just fine, make a respectable money, and hold my fam down (and lady), who makes less now. My path was different than his. Ultimately who cares...cuz love should trump all. Your backhanded statement sounds like a stray, at men like my pops 👎🏾👎🏾😂 Its also why a lot of modern black women will end up old, lonely, and die alone.

@@StinkMello12the OP didn’t say anything about their father making more money than their mother. you *interpreted* their comment as backhanded because of your personal situation that you described (your mother always making more money than your father). all the the OP said is they’re glad their father set a good example for them of what manhood, protecting, providing, and showing up for the family looked like. it sounds like your father was a good example of that for you too, regardless of him making less money than your mother. you *projected your own experience* onto this comment, taking it personally and assuming it was a negative take on your experience. protecting, providing, and showing up for family includes SO many things, not only the monetary income contributed.

I have to agree with Ish on this one…I’m a female in my late 30’s and my circle of female friends is the size of a period on the end of a sentence 😩because too many woman are driven by money and only caring about what a man can supply you with financially verses looking at everything he can offer you as a whole and bring to the table in a relationship. I’m sorry but I’m going to pick up the slack financially if my man falls short (long as it aint because he’s gambling or blowing our $ for no reason)…and I’m okay doing that because I’d want him to step up and do it for US if I fall short. It’s just that simple. You give what you expect in return, no hesitation. This new generation in combination with straight gold diggers is going to be the reason real men just decide to be single. He really didn’t. The first question I would’ve asked that would’ve shut all them up. So, you will be ok with y’all daughters being the breadwinner and their men staying at home. Because let’s keep it real! It sounds good when they talking to random females . But, they won’t have that same energy with their baby girls. So, if you want be ok with your precious daughter doin it then you just talking a bunch of BS! Also, people not getting Tyler message because everyone is focus on the woman settling. The real message was that BM are at lowest of every other race of men when it comes to having their finances together, having wealth, having a career. That’s why he specifically said black women. Because BW will most like seek a BM. He’s saying BW will most likely not see that from a lot of BM so show them grace. That was the message.

@@crystalthomas6064 In Tyler Perry's statement everything else was good, it was just the money not being equal so yeah having my daughter in that type of relationship would not be a bad thing. He said what needs to be done in this transitional time period with women becoming more and more equal to men when it comes to finances. They will need to start taking up that role or be okay with being alone with the fwb. Men will also need to be able to take on the other side of the role without feeling lesser than.

It would really benefit Mel to listen to this full discussion. She TOTALLY missed the love you at your WORTH and what that means. Actually, Tyler and the young lady interviewing him speak more about that. Sometimes it doesn't serve people well to just listen to a 30 second clip of a conversation that lasted about 5 minutes. He used Oprah and Stedman as an example. He wasn't saying black women need to be with broke men. Also, Mel statistics are statistics, if black women are outearning black men what would you suggest they do....just be alone? Also this was posed to black women because the role reversal of breadwinners is only happening at this rate in our community. Other communities, at large, don't have this issue. We don't have to like the reality....but it is what it is.

It doesn't matter who he loves at their worth. In this scenario, the woman is loving him at his worth bc he can't do much else but pay a light bill and take her to a dinner...maybe ...once in a while.... Guess y'all will be having dates at her home, since he can't afford to take her out. 😂 b real. He can't even court her properly. This is going to be an imbalanced relationship. Even a guy who is a manager at Walgreens makes more than enough to pay a light bill. The guy that Tyler Perry is auditioning for his next struggle love movie has no reason to be dating a high earning woman, unless the arrangement is that he wants to be kept and she wants to keep him. That's not the scenario most black women want, so I don't know why he is even suggesting such foolishness to us.

And Ish (and Tyler Perry) explained how the whole experience of a man is the same thing but from the males perspective AND it's also EXPECTED to be that way. Meaning men will have to do all these things that come with being an adult while ALSO having the expectation to be financially free enough to be like "Hey bae heres $X go on a shopping spree" or "Here bae here's $X for your hair and nails and when you get back get ready we going out" with the thought that a Olive Garden isn't DARE good enough. Men aren't "entitled" to their womens funds but (some) women feel "entitled" to their man's funds. The ultimate point to Tyler Perry's point was focus on finding the men with character and quality over the men with just a bag. If you find a man with both be grateful

The problem is, there are too many "physically undesirable" women (who make a decent amount of money) and they can *ONLY ATTRACT* men who can barely pay a light bill. But these same undesirable women *EXPECT,* wealthy, tall, dark, and handsome men to want them. That's not how men operate. Men with money don't go looking for women with money (we look at her physique, *NOT* her finances). But women with money, *DEMAND* a man with money.

They say a man’s ego or pride can’t take it…well maybe if you didn’t constantly remind him every time your mad, upset, insecure or in an argument with him. Women don’t like when a man constantly does it so why would a man like a woman doing it knowing Society says a man should be the BREADWINNER??

You can't be the alpha AND only pay the light bill. There's a reason the saying is "I pay the cost to be the boss". Most men who don't want to work outside the home aren't doing much with inside the home either. They want a submissive wife but fail to realize most women aren't submitting to a man who isn't a leader. You can't be a leader sitting at home chilling while your wife goes out and slaves to make ends meet. You're a dependent.
