Question 1) What is being consumed to generate the load from the power cells? If you are taking power out then the law of conservation of energy says "Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another." 2) Have you measured the temperature when you shorted it out? I would really be interested in the results of that test. I have a potential theory.

+joeeasygo From my limited understanding. Has long as it doesn't interfere with the economy and can not be used has a weapon by others or our own Government ,it's pretty much left alone, I see something like this adding to the economy as it's something people would buy thus increasing taxes collected each year. In other words the Government would gain from it sell.

Listen up dumb dumb , and crumple up your tinfoil hat. Open source is the exact reason why things disappear or never come to market. If you remove the economic reward of bringing your idea to the masses, the only people who ever benefit are the few tinkerers that can afford the time and have the skill to biuld thier own device. EVERYONE ELSE loses out. By patenting this item, the author has shared the exact formula and schematics with the entire world, recorded forever at the patent office. U can download the file for FREE today! And you can build your own for personal use, it is completely legal. What you cannot do is build one and SELL IT, without asking the author. Open source is stealing and destroying wonderful ideas from being available to the public EVERY YEAR! Suggesting great ideas be open source "given to the people" is for idiots who cannot understand basic human behavior.

Yes ... Yes ... Yes ... You are on it, man! I have been developing the same idea of a self recharging battery, but via the use of a modified JT circuit that switches back and forth between two banks of cells within the battery pack. Take the case of a cordless drill battery ... Run it down, disconnect it, set it aside to recharge itself while you pop on another. Have 3 or 4 drill packs, and you can continue working in the field without ever needing a wall charger! Society is in such denial over the idea of a perpetual flow of energy that they cannot bring themselves to accept it, even if it slaps them in the face. They always try to quote the 1st Law as a debunk. But the argument rests on whether or not the system in question is "isolated" or "open". The 1st Law only holds true in an "isolated" or "closed" system. The deniers seem to believe that in regard to energy and entropy, "open" or "closed" denotes "tethered" or "non-tethered" respectfully. Come on, you ignorant fools! There are a plethora of unseen "flows" of infinitely abundant energy all around us. All we have to do is learn how to "channel" them or "tune-in" to them, and my man PMMG4HYBRID here has done just that. "Open" systems are real and viable, people! Don't listen to the "by-the-book" nerds who never attempt to do anything other than theorize and calculate within the guidelines of the 3 Laws. Anyone who has ever accomplish anything, was never satisfied with popular opinion. Pioneers are the renegades who explore beyond the boundaries of popular belief.

Mike, very impressed at how quickly you turned your thin film idea into reality... That works! Great work! Still struggling to understand the generative nature though, if it's not thermo-generation, how are the cells auto generating? Electrostatic from air? As you've suggested, it can't be chemical otherwise it would be eating itself up. Very interesting stuff, anxious to learn more!

prove that your 2.1V voltage is truly thermogalvanic and not just the Silicon (-0.9/-1.7V) + Carbon (+0.5V) normal galvanic cell (with the added in-cell capacitor). if you stack those thin film ones then you might get a voltaic pile.

What bothers me is that neither your box nor Steorn's Orbo has a visual indicator of the current charge level of the device. This is something that nearly every other portable power supply on the market has. Any idea what your price per unit will be when you're ready to start shipping these? Some. years ago I read about anomalous current being produced when carbon fiber-based plates were stacked at 90degrees to the direction of the fibers. I believe the research paper had something to do with "negative resistors". With respect to a doped film such as you are making, it may be possible to align the activated carbon (graphene-like substance) by placing the film on top of a thick piece of rubberized magnet sheet (like are used for car signs). Those sheets are magnetized with something like 1/32" polarized stripes. I understand the carbon particles can be influenced by magnetic fields, and so may align to the stripes. It seems reasonable that the more polarized the particles, the less resistance an electrical charge would encounter across the surface. Then, at 90 degree placement, each polarized "stripe" would encounter the entirety of all other charges being produced in the cell, resulting in greater charging efficiency and power output. Something to think about anyway.

But at what point do you discern electrochemistry from "regeneration"? there are plenty of examples of wet cell batteries that deliver more current the longer you short it, due to the chemical reactions beginning, and small amounts of heat, oxide layers break down, electrodes pit and offer surface area, etc. until the electrolyte has carried all it can from one plate to another. Stick zinc and copper in a lemon and you'd get similar baseline results. Id like to see one of these cells hooked to a watt-hour meter for a while and see some real numbers, rather then quoting quick voltage/current measurements as if its total capacity/life over long term.
