My first ever venture up Blackden Brook, I'd heard good things but how would it compare to the scramble up Grindsbrook Clough?

I could really identify with this video Dan. Blackden is one of my favourite cloughs. It seems to have maintained its quiet air of solitude and tranquillity somehow. Lovely video. Fetched back many happy memories.

Really enjoyed that Dan and not ascended Blackden brook for decades but been around it a bit recently so thanks for reminding me how great it is and as soon as my knee is better I'm there. Cheers. 🍻

Just watched your video - its fantastic! I thought climbing and scrambling up to the top of Hen's Cloud was tough enough. The quietness of everything around you and the sound of the water is gorgeous.

Another nice little video Dan. I did some of this when I did my Silver D of E back around 78/79. I used to get up Kinder in about an hour back in those days! Come for a stroll with me up Mt Taranaki one day Dan (btw 'naki' is the Maori word for Snake so quite appropriate considering this location). Last (and only) time I went up Taranaki took me 5 hours up, 6 hours down but you'd smash that I'm sure :)

Wow, DofE in 78/79. I wasn't even born! Bet it was epic back in those days, probably even quieter than now and obviously much less traffic/litter I'm not sure I'd be any quicker getting up any mountain than you, though I hope one day that the opportuniy arises. I've taken a look at it since your comment and yes, it looks sensational! Thankyou for watching bud, cheers !

Really enjoyed that. I found out other day its a grade 1 scramble. I might give it a try. Try fairbrook next one along. It's gorgeous too 😊 not quite a scramble

Great vlog as always Dan. I know you were debating about the Drone but the first sign said no drones. Are there a lot of places that don't let you use the Drone now? Great vlog.👍

Thankyou for the kind comment! As for the drone, there's alot of confusion in some people as to what the actual laws over the drones are. Almost always these signs are put there simply to discourage drone use and cannot be backed up by law at all. The rules and regulations belong with the CAA and other than taking off in certain spots, you are actually not all too restricted in your use of them. However, I'm very respectful in my use, I never risk vegetation damage as I always take off and land in/from my hand, I always fly high to reduce noise pollution and I always have a good check around to make sure I'm not disturbing people (unless they've been rude to me). Past that it's a very difficult subject to address correctly and I think mostly its easily dealt with using common sense Thanks for watching pal 👍

Ah, you work there? I've been known to frequent the Hillsborough store on occasion. May call to Fox Valley today as well cos we're off up the cutgate path shortly to recce a camping pitch up near Margery Hill
