I have looked over this area and have the utmost respect for anyone enjoying this lifestyle. A rare breed indeed

A job I couldn't do though I bow down to you. When someone buys a ring with an opal in it for hundreds or thousands of £, €, $ or Au$ they don't think about the back breaking work, the stress, danger or anxiety of the people getting te rock out of the ground, cutting it, polishing it and setting it.

The belt business is a reason to keep a spare on site, and a couple of battery op handheld black lights for while you wait for stuff to get fixed. Just start picking and tossing by hand while you wait, keep the impatience down!

These guys are cool. Really great spirits. Sucks to see hard workers struggle with little prospects of getting out of the hole in the immediate.

The flies are absolutely horrendous 😔 I couldn't work like that. However, I am happy they can and I get to watch. Its rather strange however, how do flies even exist out there like that??? in the dry heat? Idk its all good haha

Unfortunately, there is very little water in the area, so none can be spared to wash rock.

Hopefully you all are using a short range spectrum black light, and a full range further down. Bad ass though!

I can see the blasted flies are everywhere! Why doesn't Australia try and do something about that? They could spray everyday some kind of fly killing chemical! Eventually it would make the fly population smaller!

So he drove 80 km round trip and found the belt, purchased it all in an hour? I must be doing something wrong, because I can not get to my local Lowes, 6 km away (one way) and then back with a purchase in under 90 minutes.

not an ounce of foresight or due dilligence. keep that shit thats crucial, and movable, in your truck or by the front of your door in a box that you always take with you when you leave for work. At least if you do not want to keep the spares at the claim.
