This is by far my favourite low cost cinema at the moment

I have 2x4PKs and one P6K. This rev2 6K looks like a very nice upgrade. The EVF option, tilt screen, bonus mini-xlr port, and ND filters show that Blackmagic is listening to customers. This camera definitely performs outside its price range. Having said that, I've always had to fight a bit with it to get the color grade to do what I want. My C70, however, usually looks amazing with just the default Rec709 LUT. I know this KZfaq video wasn't necessarily meant to show a great color grade on the 6Kr2, but I really don't like how the camera looks in many of the shots, especially in the night parking lot shots. When it cuts to the C70, it's night and day in terms of image quality. At 13:18, it does look very nice though. I also don't like how the extra battery grip is basically a clumsy fix for the horrible battery life. I wish they had just gone with a different battery. The C70 gets around 3 hours with just one of their small batteries that takes a fraction of the bulk of the P6Kr2 solution. In spite of my complaints, you can definitely shoot some very nice footage with it, and if you put in the time in the color, you can achieve excellent results. In my experience of using Canon, Sony, and Blackmagic mid-range cine cameras, I've always been the most pleased with Canon's color out of camera and achieved desired end results much quicker. It's definitely subjective of course, but even my old 5D3 video looks fantastic right out of camera (though with lower res and limited dynamic range). Blackmagic is still the hands down king of UI. Their menus destroy every other camera I have used. We are slowly starting to see other cameras move in their direction. Canon's C70 menu takes a few cues from BM, but has along way to go.

I have a BMPCC6K Pro rented right now and I love it. The interface and usability is by far the best I’ve ever used on any camera.

Blackmagic's UI is really nice on their cameras, something completely underrated. So much nicer than wading through the MMO of menus in Sony/Canon/Nikon!

Absolutely loving my 6k Pro. With the battery grip, it's a totally useable self-contained Cinema Camera that can be used handheld. Pretty incredible for the money.

My previous company of 18 years died with the pandemic, so I started watching your videos back in March last year and learned enough about videography to be able to help out struggling small businesses in my community with content. This camera was my 1st "real" camera moving away from an iPhone. I had the Mavic Mini, but it's currently on holiday 150 ft. at the bottom of Lake Cumberland so a new Mini 2 would be a great addition to my business

I was dying for you to review this camera but I'm glad you waited for the update. Here's a tip though, try shooting handheld with the neck-strap attached. With 2 hands, the neck-strap and your chest, you get 4 points of contact. I'm running the Sigma 18-35 and it's looking pretty smooth for not having stabilization.

This video is awesome. One thing I noticed is that the color grading in your videos is soooo nice. A color grading tutoring would be amazing because I’m super curious how you get such nice colors.

Literally right before you posted this I chose the pocket 6k pro (through your link of course), with a meike prime as my first lens! Also your video about bags convinced me of the think tank bag instead of the lopro. Thank you so much for all your content over the years! You have always put out great videos. That are really informative and also really fun to watch at the same time! This type of video would interest most casual and occasional shooters for things such as family vacations and filming their children in school plays. Having a camera without sensor stabilisation in 2021 I don't think it's good. But in general, the potential of this 6KP is INCREDIBLE!

I was helping a friend shoot a short film this weekend and he was using this camera. We needed a good autofocus at one point; he chose to close up the lens to avoid focus issues.

The picture does fit your style really well, with that big contrast range the pushed shadows look very natural.

Too many people are spoiled with Continuous AF. Blackmagic may not have it, but it pushes you to become a better videographer. They're product is simply one of the best at half the price of canon.

Thank you for covering the Luc adapter/ND filter issue. I was wondering how that would work out when the camera was announced. I have one of those in my 6K currently and it's money. That really helps make the choice easy to stick with the setup I have.
