The point is he’s telling them they are characters for US the player. They are confined to the “loop” of games WE play. We’re the real bad guys in that context, making them suffer in a sense.

As long as the disk of World at War exists, zombies will never end. This is a smart move by treyarch. Make a video game that has a never ending story forever, so no matter which game you play, at which time, it will always be canon no matter what you do. It's sad to think that zombies might not have a legitimate end forever, but it is intriguing none the less.

Was the Shadowman maybe impersonating Primis Richtofen? Could he maybe have given Nikolai a fake Kronorium to read, which prompted him to kill them all off? Shadowman took over Agartha with relative ease, and Monty barely fought back, if at all. Without Primis, or Ultimis, in his way, what would stop him from taking over the entire Dark Aether? You could argue the Shadowman was in the Summoning Key, but was he really? We don't know if we're using a post-cycle Summoning Key or not. On top of that, I believe the events happen roughly around the same time as Shadows of Evil, which means the Shadowman has to be out of the Key there to be trapped in it, but if he's trapped in the key, he can't possibly be there at the same time. Basically, I think it was all a set-up from Blood and onwards. The Shadowman took on Prichtofen's form, lead them all to their deaths, and prepared to take over the Dark Aether as the only 8 who have historically stopped him cease to be... This is just my dumb headcanon theory, until proven wrong. Side note: Samuel didn't call the frozen Richtofen by name. He was cut off calling him a "that". Doesn't sound like something he'd call his great pal and "the nicest guy in the universe". Also, does the Prichtofen in Alpha Omega even talk to Stuhlinger after Blood of the Dead? Seems odd when the one in Blood could, and Ultimis Rich could in Tag der Toten..

I think they both had capacity for good and evil. Monty clearly had his own intentions that completely disregard the safety and well-being of the characters. Maybe it was part of both of their plans that the new universe be created and eventually be contaminated by the dark aether. With the way time works in the dark aether (we don't really know much) and knowing that the apothicons and keepers were all sucked into it (unless I'm mistaken) along with the universe that was already overrun. Maybe they all evolved, were corrupted and then made to work together to ensure the continuation of their species. I find it weird that we have seen "evolved" versions of old enemies such as the avogadro but haven't seen much about the fates of apothicons and keepers which were clearly powerful species'. Hope we see more of them in some capacity

This was something I had thought of as a big brain theory: What if the final Cold War map ends with the Dark Aether storyline continuing forward after whatever Project Janus is, but the next Black Ops game in 2023 is actually a Black Ops 2 Remake....**EXCEPT** because of the Dark Aether storyline and the collapsed Multiverse the Bo2 Zombies has been heavily altered in terms of story, So while you may find yourself at Tranzit, Die Rise, etc. something isn't quite 100% the same about it.

I really, hope the main portions of the Aether story return. Would love my crew back, as well as Victis. The new story currently feels god awful, slow, and having no crew is KILLINg the narrative. Zombies feels super easy too now, as well as the easter eggs, the maps lack the Treyarch zombies feeling, like compare the maps we have to like Der Eisendrache, or Gorod krovi. its missing what made zombies zombies.
