I always get so proud of all of them when I see the footage of their debut. I’ve seen it a million times but I’m always so proud. How hard they had to fight to get there. And then to get to debut with YG. It was their first girl group in a while and they had massive shoes to fill and they just came out swinging and never looked back. This has nothing to do with Lisa but I always found it cool that Jisoo initially went to audition with YG to be an actress. She didn’t plan on being a singer, she wanted to act. But they saw her and felt she fit well with BP. Normally YG I guess didn’t have the strongest female visuals and people in Korea were shocked when they saw her bc she’s just flawless looking. TOPIC: BLACKPINK LISA Lisa is a thai, born in March 27, 1997 as Pranpriya Manobal (pronounce as manoban) but her parents later changed her name to Lalisa on the advise of a fortune teller. But what do Lalisa mean? translation: the one who is praise. She grow up comfortably in Buriram, Bangkok Thailand. Fame runs in their family because her dad is famous Marco Brushweiler, a renowed master chef in Switzerland and Thailand. Lisa came from a wealthy family (well every BP member do), they own a hospital and culinary school but doesn't mean growing up rich you'll be rich yourself. Our girl manage to take her own path and she auditioned in her home town Thailand for YG Entertainment, one of the Big 3 or the biggest Record Label and Entertainment Company in South Korea. She was the only one who passed the audition beating more than 4000 auditionees and went alone to South Korea in the age of 14. After more than 5 years of training she debuted in August 2016 as one the main dancer, lead rapper, and sub vocalist of BLACKPINK. The American record labels and Korean record labels are completely different. In America, a label will scout you and pick you up as an artist. In Korea, you audition at a company in hope of being a trainee. If you pass and become a trainee, you train for years in sing/rapping and dancing and other things to debut. The company will then decide whether or not they’ll debut you in a group or as a solo artist. You debut with people you’ve been training with. Blackpink started training together since they were 14-15 years old, trained for 4-10 years and they debuted in August 2016. Blackpink when signing contract in their company it states that they are fobidden in 6 things----- drinking, smoking, clubbing, driving, plastic surgery and dating. The reason why Lisa now has bigger fandom, is that Lisa is one the kind of idol that attracts international fans with her kinda western vibe/swag that mostly kpop idol don't have. And it's okay to love her, to have bias on her or have bias on other member, but please don't spread hate to her or to other members or idols. She is my bias, not bc of her being swag and talented, but because of her huge and genuine heart. WHY PEOPLE LOVES LISA MORE and MORE: PROFESSIONALISM she went to Milan for Prada's fashion show. Took a 12 hour flight back to SK, and from SK, took another 4 hour flight to Japan for their last Japan Dome concert that started just a few hours after she landed. But seeing her on stage during that concert you would never guess she just came from a 16 hour flight. Her energy was overflowing. She never ever gave less. And that is not the only time that she had back to back flights between countries to attend a show or interview or conference. HER PASSION AND DETERMINATION we may not see it all but even the dance practices of the group and her solo performances she gives 100% effort. Other members said they would train from 12pm-12am, but lisa would stay up until 3-4am to train. She keep herself grounded--with the amount of fame she is getting right now from all over the world, she remains humble. She doesn't think of herself as a big celeb. You would see her eat street foods, or stop by a small store at the sidewalk to eat ice cream, hang out with her childhood friends. She still does what normal people do. The first thing she post on her IG after attending fashion show is guess what? Her cats. It's her birthday, and what did she post on her IG story? Her cats. At the Elle mag interview, she said she feels happy rather than realizing popularity. SHE'S GRATEFUL and APPRECIATIVE if you didn't know, Lisa has the richest fans. Like really really rich. One fan spent hundred thousand of dollars for a birthday led ad on 9 Buildings in 9 cities in 9 days. She get the most expensive things during a fanmeet. But you know what, regardless of the price, Lisa would still jump for joy getting gifts from fans. There's no gift too grand or too simple for her (Unfortunately, on October 2021 YG Entertainment post a letter saying that Blackpink would never accept gifts from fans only written letters, BP want their fans to use their money for good cause and to people who needs help, like a donation or charity). HER and BLACKPINK MEMBERS GENUINE HEART Blackpink donated 40M won (33,580 USD) or 10M won (8,395 USD) each to the victims of fire in South Korea. In Dec 2018 they were awarded prize money of 20M won (16,790 USD) by Elle Styles Awards, but being angels they are they donated the amount to low-income and single-parent household in South Korea. The show takes celebrities and puts them through the brutal Korean Army training to see if they have what it takes to be accepted into the Elite "300" Warriors, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of founding of the Korean Armed Forces. Lisa did great, beating the other women at push ups and with her great attitude, but she had some health issues from the long hikes carrying a heavy backpack. In this scene, she (and another celebrity) talk with the army doctor about continuing with their injuries.
