Thanks for the reaction! About the military thing, it was Lisa who went through a military training program. (You can see some photos of her in the uniform in the video.) She didn't join the military, but participated in a TV show that had celebrities go through a tough military training program, including living in the barracks, wearing the uniform (no make-up or jewelry), doing the obstacle-course drills, fitness drills, long hikes/marches in hot weather, discipline, shining boots, being subjected to surprise inspections, etc. It wasn't just for a couple of days. It was a lengthy period of time. At one point, there was an episode where Lisa was going through a rough time and she read a letter from Jisoo that encouraged her and comforted her. (That's the part in the documentary that shows Lisa in uniform crying, together with clips of her and Jisoo together.) IIRC, Lisa injured her ankle at one point during the military training. Another interesting scene was a push-up competition. The drill instructors were surprised to see Lisa (who can look quite thin and frail) doing so well at push-ups while many of the trainees who looked like they would be stronger really struggled. A lot of the usual haters are recently trying to drag her down again with various fake rumors and false stories about her being greedy in contract negotiations with YG (and the evidence for that is zero, zip, nada and nothing). Worse, a lot of them are distorting and twisting her performance at the Crazy Horse Cabaret Theater in Paris (a world-famous cabaret similar to Moulin Rouge) into some "outrageous" scandal and sending complaints (especially in China) to social media platforms...about a show that the haters never even saw and couldn't see even if they wanted to. (Apparently, since there were a few scenes in the theatrical dance program where Lisa wore the equivalent of a bikini (according to reports only, since no video or photos of the exclusive show have been shown anywhere outside of the theater), the haters are claiming that she has ruined the image of Kpop and has destroyed the morality of the world, endangering children everywhere, including children in Beijing, Mongolia and the Gobi Desert whose lives will be ruined just imagining Lisa in a bikini in Paris. They're probably worried about the impact of Lisa's "scandalous behavior" on the penguins in Antarctica too, as well as the polar bears in the north, who may go extinct as a result of the imagined hotness.)

This documentary was very emotional and inspired. By the way, FYI at 20:36 Lisa waved, smiling with tearing eyes because she saw the blinded blinks in the wheelchair at their concert, she walked away and cried which Jennie knew later on. but, at the end of the concert, all the Blackpink members came to take photos with them.

Fun fact: Sometimes when Lisa comes here to Thailand, yeah, set get the limo out of the airport but go to the bus station and take the normal bus without body guards. She have somehow managed to stay grounded in all of this. Yes. I'm a huge Lisa fan. haha. And yes, Lisa went to the army for a while. It was part of a TV show in Korea, since she is Thai she is not part of the Army though. But she did all the things and stuff that people in the army do :)

Since this one was more of a thank you to Lisa and wishing her a happy birthday there was a few things that they left out of the video. During the time she was receiving these negative comments, she was also receiving death threats to the point where the fans got involved for LIsa's safety. They contacted the Thai embassy to protect Lisa because they believed that her life was in danger. The other thing that happened was that her own agent stole something like over 1M won or about 800 - 850K USD. But Lisa has had a rough time being an idol, more than just the normal K-pop idol goes through but that is what makes her so inspiring. Through all of that she kept that smile on her face for all of her fans.

Thank you for this reaction! I just love that documentary and it get me teary eyed every time... I have a huge respect for these four women for having such dedication and such a passion and drive at such a young age: the started their training when they were about 14 years old (give or take) and that meant no longer living at home, even living in a different country where you do not know the language at all, training 13 days 14-16 hours per day, then having half a day off, then start over again, review every month with dance performance, solo performance, group performance, fellow trainees being sent home... All this for 4-5 years that must've felt like an eternity, never knowing if you will really make it at the end or if you're sent home mere weeks before the debut. I can't wrap my head around all this, it is just mind-boggling! All this needs such an inner strength and a psychological strong character, already at such a young age, i'm amazed. That's why their success is so well deserved. They are now global super-stars. But with all their fame, success and wealth, they still remained so down to earth. That's what makes them idols in my view: strong character, huge passion and dedication combined with remaining humble

As for as the negative comments, yes there will always be some. But also keep in mind, its harder to sense tone or sarcasm from written text. I thought this when you mentioned that people were mad that you reacted to the wrong video of a song. But you didn't mention the group or song so this is just based on my experience. Someone saying wrong video, dude doesn't necessarily mean they are mad. It could be the complete opposite (playful) depending on the tone. And I'm not saying you're wrong, but I've seen it happen to other reactors. They'll jokingly say they got ripped a new one in the comments for the wrong video knowing that those same people are watching this new one. However, I did see a ridiculously unnecessary negative comment on one of your reactions. But It was just hateful and had nothing to do with it being the wrong video!

I can watch it 50 times and I still cry every time. The production, the background audio, the visuals, the commentary. The person who made this video deserved an emmy, lol. Lisa overcame so much and she is such an amazing artist.She is a bright light for BlackPink themselves. She is such a lovely, caring and bubbly person especially with her girls. Keep in mind when they showed up,.. at the height of the pandemic scare. You can't go to concerts, or movies or out in crowds. What you can do is stay home with your computer. Everybody was looking for something. THAT'S when they walked out on stage. An initial reviewer, a mr. noel, wrote, "the new musical act from YG consists of 4 skinny girls,.. who dance,.. a little,... and can sing,... a little." (you can look that up). The idea that "4 skinny girls" are about to take over the world is AWESOME!!! When Lisa was attacked, they had to know it was coming. There's a pecking order that we in the west were not aware of,.. Japanese look down on Koreans, Koreans look down on Thai people. They had to know, all of them, that Lisa was going to be attacked, simply because she is Thai. You can look up all of those postings of what people said about her and when. Those quotes they cut and pasted into these documentaries are time stamped. You can go back and see them. You can also see the hesitation to to support her. We did not know why she was being attacked. The criticism from some of them was of specific performances where she is front and center,... and she is masterfully performing. So what were they watching that we didn't see??? What did she do? why don't they like her? When it became more clear that there was no valid reason for it, everyone rushed to support her. You can go to those platforms and see the rush of supportive comments all at once. But she had to take every blow. Her bandmates could NOT stand between her and this hatred. You can see Jennie next to her in pictures and video,.. and you can see that someone is yelling something at Lisa. If you want to see Jennie pissed?,.. there it is. Someone just screamed something mean at her little sister. They are NOT allowed to fight back. Lisa can NOT react to any of it. She is telling them,.. THIS is how a Thai person acts,.. with grace and dignity,.. talent and charm.. and you WILL respect who I am. She needed to hold her head up until support came rushing in. THAT support and protective nature in her fans never really went away. She became the little sister of everyone around the world. I have never seen such an outpouring of love for one person. But her getting thru this initial backlash is certainly part of her lore. Other K-pop idols DID disappear (either quit or were fired) when there were scandals. Lisa did not leave (even when the threats to murder her family were thrown down,.. and you can look those up too). Which leads one to believe that someone somewhere put their foot down and stood up for her. No one at YG is known for THAT kind of support. Out of the few people involved, I would pick Jennie as the most likely suspect. But I wasn't there,.. I do not know. If anyone was going to stand up and say, she ain't going anywhere,.. I think it's Jennie. Pure conjecture on my part. Lisa DEFINITELY had her friends at her side. It had to be a deciding factor in all of their success,.. they had each other.
