I just noticed that in Pink Venom they pay homage to the hip hop iconic songs but in Shutdown, they literally pay homage to themselves. Such queens indeed.

the fact that all of their music videos are iconic enough to pay homage to them is so dope! i do understand why many are saying the video is a more "plain" than we're used to, but i think it was really cool that they decided to basically showcase their visual journey~ i also LOVE the song so much😩

Did People forget that these album was already completed as Pink Venom was released. So literally they calculated that hate and they were 10Million steps forward.

i honestly really like the simplicity of it. i would’ve liked more variety in the outfits bc that’s always one of my favorite things in BP videos and seeing them reused in more than like one scene was jarring but that’s just nitpicky 😭 i see why people think the white backgrounds look empty or odd but i really do think it was to emphasize the main set piece (all of which are now stuffed with cash and black + pink, lol) and the girls. idk. it was different for them. i really liked it and i think i’ll go back to it a lot.

Just like what Rosé said.. ‘ keep talking we shut you down’ just perfectly embodies what these girls will always do. They’ll just shut down the haters. I love feisty BP. It’s so satisfying to see them just do what they do and continue to go up and up. I also love the vulnerability & maturity in this album.. they’ve really grown as individuals and as artists.

They SHUT IT DOWN This song throws SO much shade at their haters and doubters. The MV is an homage to previous MVs, it's jam packed with visuals and lyrics you have to watch it over and over to discover things. This is why they are where they are. At least you didn't hate on it like other people (haters and antis). They hated on Pink venom so hard and now they're at it again lol. many have differing opinions about this album, saying that Shut Down isn't the best song, and that it shouldn't be the title track, and things like that but i think Shut Down is the title track because it's a statement, a declaration of some sort, that it's a new era, a new level for the girls. 🖤💗

I couldn't agree more, Caitlin! I've been shut down for 2 days now listening to BornPink album on repeat. Words couldn't explain how insanely amazing these girls are. All their new songs are a big slap to all the haters out there who couldn't accept the fact that Blackpink will continue to pave their way up!

I think they’ve really come into their own. I think the last couple years of a group hiatus allowed them so many solo ventures in different avenues. I think it has made them more confident as individuals and as a group.

Honestly, this song and MV was such a nice sendoff to their previous eras as they move onto new horizons 💖 ...Not to mention all the savage lines like "It's not a comeback since we never left" and "Keep talking and we shut you down" 😭🔥. Telling haters/doubters off while also paying homage to their music and elevating themselves, love it👍 Jisoo also completely slayed me this entire CB! I genuinely believe this is her era 🖤💖 Oh! And the Doberman you see in the MV with Lisa is actually hers! His name is Love!! Part of the L Family 🥰 The album as a whole was also so nostalgic and fresh for me! Shut Down I think it's literally a compilation of absolutely his entire career so far, all the references to his songs and all that, I love it!! And the final part where they are entering the elevator and press the button I love how they can only go up, referring to the fact that they will never go down, and will only go up higher and higher, haha I love that :D

the interesting thing about the mv is that they used past props from their mvs, so Rosè on the globe was from their mv Whistle. Jennie on that sliver tank was from Kill This Love, Lisa with that samurai sword was DDu Du DDu and Jisoo was also DDu Du DDu! lastly Jennie with the fire was playing with fire. Rosè on the chandelier was Kill This Love (please feel free to correct me if i made any mistakes thank you and have a great day❤)
