“I was told this is one of their more chill songs”. I was like oh no. Who lied to her? Ten seconds later. “Y’all lied to me! This isn’t a chill song!!” I love it! And ma’am Jennie is a certified badass ace queen. She can do anything: rap, sing, produce, write lyrics, be cute and cool in a two second time span, and lastly sit on that horse for the one second they needed for the mv. #1 Blackpink has nothing but bangers. Whoever told you Whistle was chill meant “more chill” in relation to all the other bangers #2 I think there are at least 5 songs in this one song. I love the switch ups in Whistle. #3 Jennie is unfairly talented in comparison to the rest of us mere mortals.

I love your BLACKPINK reactions. Whistle is 1 of 2 debut songs, the other is boombayah. BLACKPINK boldly predicted they will conquer the world with this video. Rosé started off sitting on top of the earth. By the end of the video, all the girls are sitting on top of a pink earth.

Fun facts: - This is their debut song (+ Boombayah) - at 6:09 They are sitting on earth and earth is turning pink.. They meant that they will be dominating the world AND THEY DID!! - Jennie can rap and sing - Lisa can rap and sing - Jisoo can sing and rap

Well, at least you got the cgi out of the way. None of their other MVs had CGI effects, just this one. All the rest have actual sets that took human hands to build. And this really was one of the calmer songs. They don't have any songs that would be played on a smooth jazz channel. All their songs have multiple switch-ups as you mentioned (four or five different songs sprinkled together into one solid entertaining piece). Most of their songs have both rap and straight singing. They are amazing for that though, you will never be bored.

They are the current biggest kpop girl group! They won best girl group of 2020 and the first kpop pop girl group to surpass 1 billion views on many of their mv views on youtube. 3 out of 4 member are fluent in english. Lisa can speak 4 different fluent languages.

@@gemmymercado1941 funny thing is they had green screens too. Here's the reason why. Technology at that time makes it impossible for these effects to be added. Although the creative vision and the tenacity to follow through is there the set director and creative directors at that time does not have the tech to do so. But You can see, they really tried. Now that tech is available and the knowledge of set design. Cgi becomes a moot point. Unlike other labels who still clings on to cgi and green screens up to this day.

If you want something calmer, there is "Stay", or "You'll Never Know" (no M/V, but lyric videos available). Also, the video that locked me in as a Blink is their live cover of Miguel's "Sure Thing". But there is swag even in their ballads. They (and their producer, Teddy), actually had to argue with the company to release "Whistle" as one of their debut songs, because it switches style so many times (including country). Their other debut, "Boombayah", is less calm, as you know :)

This was my favorite song of theirs (until "Lovesick Girls"). That beat is everything. This was also on of their two debut songs (with "Boombayah"). I still can't wrap my head around that.... Your reaction pretty much mirrors my own. Loved it!

Just a PSA, they can all sing, rap and dance. They tend to get pushed into certain slots to suit their strengths/role, but they can all do it all. Jisoo got her first rap in Pretty Savage, so if you haven't seen it you should absolutely check it out. It goes hard, so brace yourself. It is 100% Black, 0% Pink.
