Yeah, as someone who's making simple, butted mail in his spare time, I can agree 100% that it's not glamorous to do the same thing again and again, but there is absolutely a satisfaction in seeing the pile growing.

Not to take away from the simplistic beauty of the skewer but the cinematography and editing was the star of the show on this one. Great work guys.

Thanks! It's such an engaging craft that even filming something as simple as a skewer or nail is more of a pleasure than a task!

This is awesome. I'm starting to get into blacksmithing after spending most of my life in the kitchens. The similarities between the too are really astonishing.

What size and length? What is the length that you use at the end for the handle? Thanks. Good video.👍👍

Great video guys. I think you hit the nail on the head about making a single item. That’s a great skill in itself but to be able to replicate and make something very similar time after time - that’s real craftsmanship. It’s the bit that challenges me as a spoon carver. Lovely video, I’ll need to add a few skewers to my wish list! 👍

Thanks! I'd imagine with spoon carving it's even more challenging as you have to consider the grain of each piece as well

For the wrapped handles, what's the general rule of thumb to find the length of material to wrap? Is it 3 times the diameter per coil? Or 4?🤔

I think it be better to make these using stainless steel flat stock so the food doesn't spin
