Agree, other methods I've seen seems to dish the center to create the sides and then they flatten out the.middle again, this method eliminated working on the middle completely, not sure how much time or energy it saves, if any, depends on the heating method I would think 🤔

I wonder how this would go doing it in stainless
@andizell2255
@andizell2255 3 жыл бұрын
probably not as good as steel from the performance perspective. Stainless isn't so good in conducting the heat. To be completely honest with you, I would have to build and test one myself but my guess is: not as good as steel performance wise but definitely better in cleaning as you could put it into your dishwasher. Cheers Andi

@@andizell2255 I'm more interested in the forging aspect. I actually went to trade school to be a machinist, I'm familiar with the way stainless reacts with heat, and the metallurgy of stainless. I am not, however, even slightly familiar with how it forges!
@andizell2255
@andizell2255 3 жыл бұрын
@@83gt17 oh okay, gotcha. I've experienced during a bit of stainless forging that stainless is harder to forge and you really have to watch your temperature. Too hot and you'll burn some of the alloys, too cold and the stainless might dent your tools. Also keep in mind that coal isn't suited for stainless due to many impurities, coke, charcoal or gas is easier on the material. After forging You've got to clean it thoroughly and put it into the cleaning acid. After that, done. Maybe remove the temper colours from time to time if they appear during cooking.
