Unlike one commentator, I never expected anything supernatural about the house. In fact, I suspected the husband might be involved relatively early. I personally feel that as a psychological thriller, it was much below par. It was not only in need of a better script, but more importantly, the lack of knowledge of medical science and logic in the behavior of characters was shocking. Would anyone be able to convince me (and my doctor!) that I have an early onset of dementia just because I could not recall certain things that someone told me I should? The story would be slightly less unbelievable if Cass in fact had signs of dementia as well as deep psychological problems and the husband just wanted to push her over the edge, and it has to be acknowledged that throughout the movie her behavior was far from normal. Other illogical decisions abound. Since when was the discovery of an affair by a colleague a good reason for murder? The ending was nonsensical. How did Cass and her colleague suddenly come out with a (bad) plan that almost caused both of them to get killed, while the cops presumably enjoyed watching and intervened only at the last moment? I don't get why Rachel should stab Matthew either,

The fact that Cass plan was hidden from us all movie was imo a kind of cheat. Still enjoyed the thriller but wish they filled up a few of those plot holes.

The movie was decent enough, but the ending wasn’t handled very well at all. Maggie grace was as gorgeous as ever, as was the lead Minka Kelly. Overall I give it 7/10.

This movie was painfull to watch at times. The amount of bad decisions is insane and the end is crazy and so unnecesary. Also the tense music that was playing almost 60% of the movie, even when not so much was happening was a bit strange. The cinematography was very well done, but the performance of some of the actors was questionable. Spoilers: Why put herself in danger like this and set this complicated plot in motion at the end? She had the phone. That is all the proof she needed. She used the blood and all for her student to see her, but as it wasn't her husband that was supposed to find her, then just saying she committed suicide would have been enough. She and the friend that tries to help almost died. They both get serious dammage to their skulls. All that while the cops were waiting to see how it played out?

Good pt. - it’s a heightened thriller so these horrible lapses in logic are usually forgiven (or in this case overlooked) by me. What I found to be a bigger flaw is: Spoilers: Mink Kelly’s ultimate plan was shielded from the actual storyline so we had the rug pulled out from under us without even a hint given. I just felt that was a total cheat. Of course the fellow teacher said he would help if needed but still i wish it wasn’t so hidden from us. Thx for your insights!
