After the drive around Park Loop Road, we then give you some highlights and information about Blackwoods Campground. This campground is the one on Mt. Desert Island, inside Acadia National Park, that is closest to some of the most popular destinations on the island, and in Acadia National Park. Including, Jordon Pond, the Jordon Pond House, North Bubble, South Bubble, Bubble Rock, Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach, The Beehive Trial, Thunder Hole, The Bowl, Otter Cliffs, Otter Point, and the main entrance to Bar Harbor and the Bar Island Trail. This campground is very quiet, beautiful and peaceful. There are not any electric or water hookups, but there is a dump station. There is a paid shower location, that also sells firewood, not far from Blackwoods Campground. This is one of the best National Park Campgrounds, in which we have stayed. The campground is very wooded, and you are not on-top of your neighbor. There seems to be a lot of space in this campground and you do not feel cramped. More information, pricing updates, and reservations can be accessed at www.recreation.gov. One note is you will need to purchase an Acadia National Park pass, on top of your camping fee.
