I saw this in theaters the weekend of it's premiere and pretty much changed my mind on super hero Marvel comics movies at that time. The funny part about my first introduction to Blade was in the Spiderman Saturday morning cartoon of all places. Had Whistler, mentioned his mom etc all in a few episodes where they were hunting Morbius and Spiderman was in danger of becoming a spider monster. Then this R-rated movie comes out not too much later, Lol.

Blade is not fully a vampire, he is a hybrid, meaning he is half-human half-vampire. He has all of their strengths of a vampire and none of their weaknesses, except for the thirst of blood. That is why he and Whistler developed a serum for him, to suppress his thirst for blood.
@jordanpax9735

Best part is about blade is that dude is basically going to to the fight against vampires at like half strength since when he actually feeds on blood he gets a major power boost. So him taking the serum instead of blood is him giving all the vamps a handicap lol

This movie did MATRIX before MATRIX, in terms of the look, the tone, the music, the clothes, the world beneath the real world, etc. Please continue with the trilogy… TRINITY in particular gets a lot of hate for some reason but I enjoy it. That one’s a proof of concept for Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool 😄
@antoniochasten3192
@antoniochasten3192 Жыл бұрын
I mean, yeah, films are subjective but my goodness, compared to the first two films, Trinity is easily the worst film out of the three, IMO. That film had a lot of problems. From the script to the director, the production and Wesley Snipes BTS drama.

I think the main reason Trinity gets hate is bcuz Snipes hated doing it bcuz he hated Ryan Reynolds and the director and it's the weakest story of them all but still not a terrible movie it just doesn't have the same feel as the first 2
@antoniochasten3192
@antoniochasten3192 Жыл бұрын
@@MrET-kr9zj True that Snipes wasn't a fan of Reynolds and David Goyer as writer and director for the film but Trinity, IMO, just wasn't good at all. Blade is a classic and Blade 2 is a damn good sequel. Sure, the film had one or two decent action sequences that were entertaining but the best thing about Trinity was Parker Posey's Danica Talos and Ryan Reynolds Hannibal King. They stole the movie. For me, Blade Trinity is incoherent and way campier than the first two and is a terrible threequel follow up to the first two more superior films. Just my opinion.
@clonexx
@clonexx Жыл бұрын
Trinity was ok, but compared to Blade 1 and 2, it’s subpar. Ryan Reynolds saved the movie, as did Parker Posey. Their two roles were great. The rest was just….meh. However, it’s worth watching for Ryan Reynolds alone, because that man is just funny, period. I was so happy when he finally landed Deadpool. Just like Snipes was born to play Blade, Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. His humor is so on par with Deadpool’s that it’s eerie.

I wish we could see Wesley Snipes, Hugh Jackman, Tobey Maguire, & RDJ in Secret Wars before a multiversal reboot happens with recasts heading into the Mutant Saga. @@davidsavage5630 I think we at least get proper send-off for the OG FoX-Men like Patrick Stewart & Hugh Jackman. I feel those 2 & Ryan Reynolds won’t pass up the chance to participate in an Avengers crossover. I hope we see Michael Fassbender’s Magneto as well. I wouldn’t mind him & Deadpool keeping the same actors for the next MCU saga. If they follow the comics, we could see a multiversal reset where they can start fresh with a new cast of X-Men & possibly other heroes that have been portrayed before.

Also fun fact, in case no one has posted this yet, but Wesley Snipes was so fast with his martial arts he had to slow down quite a bit for the cameras to catch him properly. He also did all his own stunts (except for a couple I believe the studio would just not let him do). I really wish Snipes would have been cast again in the Blade MCU movie, even if he played Whistler or some other character. I mean, he could probably still pull off being Blade himself, but, I don't know at this point anymore.

Blade generally works at the street level with Daredevil, Punisher, etc. However, like everyone else he's been an Avenger at some point. That indicates the vampires are considered a lower level threat. However, they occasionally get uppity and the X-Men have dealt with them. In fact Storm was turned into a vampire at one point.

Marvel would have gone bankrupt if not for this movie. Combined with Xmen 2 years later and spiderman 2 years after that, and that is why Marvel is still around today.

I've been craving an actual big time reaction channel to cover this, almost as much as I want this channel or Blind Wave or even the Normies to cover Gremlins. (Gremlins is my absolute favorite movie in the world)

Really cool thing about this movie: it actually informed the character's look in the comics themselves. Before this, Blade was more of a Hammer Horror type character (he's actually British in the MU lore) and his current leather and katana look was one of the first movie-synergy adaptations for the comics.

If it wasn't for blade the early spiderman movies would not have happened and the MCU would never exist. This movie should be on an altar at marvel HQ

Watch Blade Two. Loved that one. Great cast. And Nomac is very compelling character. Played by Luke Goss (Prince Nuada of Hellboy ll). Blade Trinity I'd only recommend viewing out of Morbid curiosity. Otherwise totally missable

The director heard Wesley Snipes say that "Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill." during a phone call on set and immediately knew he had to put it in the movie. Also, yeah, Snipes is an extremely legit martial artist. Stephen Dorff isn't known for a lot, sadly. Dude's a good actor, but he hasn't had the success of other actors. He really should have had a bigger career than he has. American Hero is a good movie to watch if you want more of him.

Fun Fact: There was an alternate ending where not only did Blade have to face Frost as a giant blood monster, but after that fight, he would leave the temple and see Morbius and prepare to face him.

Imagine a world where Blade isn't a success and Marvel Studios has to shut down and file for bankruptcy. No Iron Man. No Captain America. No Avengers. No MCU. If we did eventually get those characters it would be much further in the future and most definitely different actors playing all those characters. Yes RDJ was the flame that started the fire for the MCU but Wesley Snipes sparked that flame. Hopefully we get your reaction to Blade 2 it's the best of the series imo
