Thirty years after the events of Blade Runner (1982), a new Blade Runner, L.A.P.D. Officer "K" (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former L.A.P.D. Blade Runner, who has been missing for thirty years.

Humans are pretty good at rough estimates. I mean, someone hit a plane with a tank cannon in ww2 so I'd say his aim was believable. Not to mention he waited for a low aspect shot to ensure that he hit it.

It could also be possible that that gun had some sort of auto-tracking system, as in you just have to launch it in general direction and it goes to the target. Kind of like the pigeon missile tracking system in WW2.

I never noticed how absolutely brutal those missile hits were. You can actually see the dismembered bodies flying apart as clear as day. Blood and guts everywhere. Wow. Makes Love look even more savage now I noticed you can see the human beings who were just there rather than just a big explosion.

It's all occult /\/\asonic crap. You have a God character Elden Tyrell or Wallace, a corporation representing heaven, replicants who represent angels who are overtly called that in 2049, a great flood that destroys "The City of the Angels" (hint hint) after a rebellion by replicants etc. And the city inhabitants speak a combination language - Babel

I'm going to speculate, so this is all theory: There's a huge wealth gap. High tech, even junked items, like flying cars, replicant cadavers, guns that can one-shot replicants, are worth enough to be stealing, or raiding, killing, and stealing. They aren't looking for junk per se, they are looking for high tech scrap. There are most likely other bands in the junkyard, and when there's a garbage drop on garbage day (we see a drop close by), there's probably a run from all the bands towards the drop and they compete for scavenging. K makes the mistake of going to the junkyard on garbage day. This is like Christmas Day to the scavengers. That AA-EMP gun is there to knock out a garbage transport. The cutting tool is to assist scavenging and to cut into the transport, but they don't have much more than a few rifles (which some lucky shots hit the car).
