@@saulpina683 what I would recommend would vary depending on the person, because people should tailor their own expectations and they have different tastes, and a lot of knife makers follow 'trends' that appeal to some customers versus others. For US made products I personally like Kershaw/Spyderco/Cold Steel All those brands have chinese made knives so I am referring to their american-made models only. If US-made doesn't matter to you then the world is your oyster. Fixed blades don't really get better with $ spent versus utility so I'd recommend Morakniv(swedish) or Hultafors for beater fixed knives. For folding knives if you don't care about chinese made than brands like civivi/cjrb are alright, and if you want cheap pure chinese stuff than SRM(sanrenmu) and Ganzo make good value brands. I will also say that cold steel (pre buyout, not sure now) always made the toughest folders of anybody else on the market for the $, if that is something that you need. Their taiwanese made stuff is, surprisingly good. I will state that I prefer supporting domestic US products more than anything though, but I personally have a soft spot for cheap morakniv swedish knives. I really like some spyderco knives but their cottage prices and markup for the name are getting even worse the last few years and they've always been kind of steep. I do like Kershaws, the non-tactical looking ones, anyway

Same here. I have a full size with the sheepsfoot blade and it's one of my favorite Benchmade's.

I EDC my mini grip and I just bought my son a mini grip for his upcoming birthday and I also bought the full size griptilian limited edition the other day

@shannondosher1270 Originally, I had the mini, but it was too small for my hands, so I sold it and got the full size. Both great knives for different sized hands.

No pocketknife is more comfortable to use imo. I wish they made a fixed blade version. Same blade length, same contoured handle shape, just a full tang fixed blade.

@@alexesloan8325 as a professional knife salesman you can find benchmade quality for 1/3 of their price pretty easily, you just have to look for a minute

@Peter Steinle it is different, but I like it. No need to put effort into liking it. If it's not your thing, the bugout has a more normal shape, but it doesn't have as slim of a profile as the 940

@Peter Steinle or there's another favorite of mine that I want someday. The bailout. I like tanto blades, and the scales are so thin it's unbelievable, but still comfortable in the hand

@@TheHallbjorn I thought that at first too but after I bought it and used it I can say the blade shape is actually super practical and it just works really well.

@@TheHallbjornI bought a $13 clone just to see if I like the shape and I see why everyone likes it. It has enough tip strength to be strong but not hard to sharpen or unusable

The Freek may be the only Benchmade product I buy this year. I own a Griptillian and Osbourne...the rest of the line up is overpriced

@@Monsoonpain The Super Freek is the Benchmade that makes me still like Benchmade. Mine, after some lube and adjustment, has been awesome for like 4 or 5 years now.

The scales, blade geometry and DLC is top notch. I’ve beat mine up and it still looks and functions perfect.

Its good when you switch scales and screws and all stuff except the blade. 😅 I got the grey one and I hated it but got it for a good price. Then changed to cheap scales (metal) from amazon and new green screws, thumbstud and now just waiting for the brass backspacer to get available.

But it is? You never see them. Unique. And gorgeous in the sun. Cleans up well. Made of glass.

@@9k827 but we do see them, a lot actually. It’s pretty cheap to manufacture and feels cheap in the hands too. Gotta love a handle that you can just squeeze together and make both sides touch.

Is that with m4 steel? I might be mistaken but I saw one for sale locally and I picked it up to check it out and it felt pretty solid, I just wasn’t sure about the m4 and was a bit hesitant on the price.

@@John5.56 Yeah M4. I like it, never had a problem with it. The rubberized grip has gotten a might worn over the years, but only at the edges.

Gotta disagree on that one, I think it’s great as a folding knife. I’ve BEATEN on mine for years in the outdoors of Montana and it’s still mint condition. Very sturdy in both forms

Been buying the drop point on ebays. Got 3 of them.. The Px still carries the Tanto, I bought one and about to buy a second one. Great knives.

Both good knives, I have a bugout and my friend let me borrow his para 2 for awhile and I like them both.

the para 2 is giant but the bugout feels extremely cheap..

@@bigboredom5800 both good knives no doubt. but when i hike with my dog deep in the forest, i always think to myself " if i encounter a cougar, which knife would i feel more confident with if i ever encountered a scary situation like that?" pm2 just felt right. even tho its uglier than the bugout. because the bugout looks way nicer than the pm2. but the pm2 feels way superior. and the shape of it grows on you over time. and its fidgety as hell

@@chrisv2994 Probably the PM2. That thing opens so easily and smoothly, and it's basically bulletproof.

@@Osprey1994 if they marketed this anodising as premium it should hold for years! Not for a week or two. I'd rather save 2$ and get cheaper version without anodising if benchmade made a real premium work tool, not a premium makeup

Maybe I got lucky but my bugout only cost $140 which is identical to the para 3 LW. I can’t say which is better bc I haven’t had that spyderco but they are the same price

@@11FOXHOUND11 actually I got it some time near the beginning of this month. I have pretty much had it in my pocket since then. But I had stopped in an ace hardware and just decided to buy it. I just looked up prices and everywhere else I’ve found it is $175-190 so I guess I did get lucky.

@@bigboredom5800 Dang that's pretty good. That's on the low side for a benchmade, you got a nice deal there. My para 2 was $180 and as much as I love my 940-1, it's hard to justify them being the same price at the respective times I got them. Still love them both though
