To the people in the comments who are trashing this guy's bench - Does equipped bench look goofy? Yes. Are equipped reps legit reps? Depends on who you ask. Is pushing 940 lbs off your chest a titanic feat of strength even if you're wearing a bench shirt and doing a belly press? Abso-fuckin'-lutely. If you're skeptical...just go to your gym, put three times your body weight on a bar, wear every bench shirt on Earth, copy this guy's form, and try to complete a rep. When your crushed sternum heals you can come back and tell us about your new found respect for this guy's lifts.

Yes it’s impressive and fucking strong… but still ridiculous and ugly, the fact hebdo more on bench than deadlift is absurd, they need to change the regulation for the bench
@demomain1571
@demomain1571 Жыл бұрын
@Alexis Reuve I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as “ugly.” It is simply how suits work. On squat and bench, your rep in the suit builds lots of tension which helps propel heavier weights and in turn allows you to lift more. In deadlift, the weight being on the ground kinda makes it hard to effectively build tension for that specific lift, sense you can’t really build tension in your back from the suit. It is just how it works.
@patrickmcgrath2570
@patrickmcgrath2570 Жыл бұрын
@@demomain1571 it is ugly. You don't look like a top level athlete doing bench press wearing a baby-grow 5 times too small for you. Nobody should be benching more than they can deadlift, it's absolutely farcical. I'm not knocking the dude though, he's just taking advantage of the competition rules and it's still an incredible feat of strength to do what he did.
@demomain1571

@@patrickmcgrath2570 Although I understand what you’re saying, I don’t understand the point of you saying “you don’t look like a top level athlete doing bench press wearing a baby-grow 5 times too small for you,” since aesthetics are redundant in powerlifting. This sport is about lifting the absolute most amount of weight possible in your own respective weight class. Equipped lifting is just simply a more extreme version of this idea.
@patrickmcgrath2570
@patrickmcgrath2570 Жыл бұрын
@@demomain1571 I understand aesthetics play no part in powerlifting but that doesn't make people's opinions about them invalid. Raw powerlifting looks athletic as hell, it's just you and the bar. Equipped lifting just looks goofy. It's you, the bar oh and also this elastic suit that artificially helps you lift more weight.

Raul Delgadillo you can get a lot more weight off a squat suit than a deadlift suit. Equipped squats above 500kg have always been pretty common. Till this day Eddie has the only 500kg deadlift. Also not even talking about the mechanics and leverages of a 400+ pound man being able to deadlift that much (look how much Blaine can deadlift in comparison to his squat and how much Eddie deadlifted). There’s a big difference.
@JohnmillerPowerlifting
@JohnmillerPowerlifting 4 жыл бұрын
Gustavo lays out all the points around he difference between the lifts. only think I will add is when you are looking at lifts jut compare them like for like. What I mean by that is Eddie, on all the gear he wants for as long as he wants and never comes off it, also using figure of 8 straps to hold onto the bar. Blaine is tested under Wada rules and yes you can say he can still take drugs and pass but its nothing like what eddie can do. also you can looking at a lifter that is not allowed to use straps to hold the bar. So really when you break it down the lifters are so far apart in what they are allowed to do and use its not even able to be compared to each other.

I never understood how a deadlift can be smaller than squat and bench. These guys live in a different dimension.

Cuz he used special equipment to benchpress .This equipment can improve benchpress for 50-60% and give a little improvement in deadlift.

His Deadlift was 25% lower than his bench and squat... I am so confused right now... I mean, mad props to him, insane weight.... But I feel like I am in a parallel universe after watching that...

Жим к пупку, с огромным животом и мостом, отлично, даже руки сгибать не пришлось🤣. Кто вообще засчитывает результаты с такой техникой? Собутыльники из пивной?

My PR is 850 wich is a good enough record to call my self strong. Atleast 10y ago when o took it. Wsd like 21 years or something. But I needed to reach 1000kg atleast to compete with big guys. I realised how far i was from 1000 and just quit. Maybe It was possible maybe i wasnt. Potential to it was there, but the sacrifrice needed..oh my god.. People dosnt even unserstand. 1300kg! Blaines will power isnt even human. Its so sureeal.
