Blake is and has always been more of an "agile speedster" type, but the idea that she's the weakest (by ones who I can guess >cough< sexist & homophobic incels >cough

even if shes one of the weakest yang and blaake got like the best fight scenes in team rwby

She doesn't though, any moments that involve Yang are naturally done cause she isn't some superhuman supersoldier. Hell if anything she's shown feats of strength akin to Yang like her going toe to toe with the Cenitaur and anchoring the Hound; as well as holding her own against Adam. The entire show has made a point to avoid the idea of reducing one party of a relationship in order to shine another up as a "knight"; usually a hetero thing but could be done with LGBT+ as well.

@@CrimsonXE But Yang never gets bailed out by Blake because she makes a mistake, she's always the one doing the rescuing. If it was equal I wouldn't be complaining.

@@powderedsoul9128Except that you're looking at the wrong area for the tit-for-tat. In Yang's case where she falls short is in dealing with her emotional/mental aspects, which is where Blake not only allows her to express her vulnerability but is shown supporting her when she does. Most blatantly in v9. Though there's been several cases where Yang has also been knocked down. The Paladin fight where it leads into the reveal of her semblance. And more seriously against Adam, where not only does she lose her arm but Blake has to risk getting decapitated and pushing her semblance to its next level or to its max to create a second clone of Yang to distract Adam to get her away to safety. Also again in v6 where she jumps to attack Adam after climbing up the cliffside. The reality is that Blake has never been nor ever will be a solo brawler type; while Yang has always been in that camp. Its why they mesh so well, speed & support via distraction tactics w/ tankiness, martial prowess, & power.

@@CrimsonXE Except Blake has been able to take down Torchwick and Ilia in one-on-one fights, so it's not that she could never be a solo brawler, they just nerfed her to make her more of a damsel-in-distress needing people to save her.

@@mauriceisaac3646Torchwick at best is an "elite mook" who isn't at all implied to be that powerful. Ilia is like Blake in the agile speedster camp and also not implied to be super powerful, being more espionage based. So neither of those really back up any idea of Blake being a brawler. The Cenitaur blade clash and anchoring the Hound do more towards that aspect. Regardless "damsel-in-distress" doesn't go anywhere near Blake and actually run completely against the core of the damn show; so no its not at all in place. While BS'ers probably would like the idea of d-i-d, BB'ers wouldn't so it wouldn't even be appealing to the main romance for Blake.

Thank you, like she's never been a solo-tanker. At most agile speedster that runs support, but some people really have this AU vision of her.

Okay >cracks fingers< let's tear this b.s. apart: a) At least get your bigotry correct in that Blake is confirmed BISEXUAL, but congrats on showing your bigoted bias right off the bat. She wasn't "reduced" as being LGBT+ isn't a negative. b) She's still a badass "cool" character if anything she's gotten more so now that she's comfortable with herself as well as openly flirting with her now gf. c) She still struggles on racial prejudice & even her own identity as shown in v9 d) She doesn't actually obsess over Yang but she is y'know in love with her and shows it; while being fully capable of doing her own thing with others. Its almost like people in a relationship >gasp< want to be around each other. On top of that its almost like the teams were setup from the start with sub-pairs within. Also where romance tends to bloom because of the two relying on, spending large amounts of time with, & trusting each other.

I wouldn't say I hate her, I just don't really care for her since her White Fang subplot fizzled out, which left her little keeping her in the story other than her relationship with Yang. Plus, she's lost most of her backbone as whenever she's confronted by someone, she justs shrinks away to be defended by Yang or Weiss, when she used to be able to stand up for herself, which made sense with her past as an activist freedom fighter. Simply put, she has little going for her as a character anymore besides shipping.

@@mauriceisaac3646 What you mean in actuality is that the WF subplot has mostly resolved into a dormant state as the pieces left behind by Adam's psychotic terrorist ass have to be reformed into a new form of the WF. You do realize that development of a relationship is in itself a form of character development, right? That her relationship with Yang and its nuances is just as valid for exploration as other things as its part of growth as well as blooming of 9 volumes of build between the two. Maybe I'm misreading the toning, but it comes across very much as dismissive. Um did you miss Blake going feral on Neo? Though going by this comment I'd wager you're reading her using her damn brain and being diplomatic vs. an abrasive asshole as "losing her backbone". Let's go down the list of most likely implied instances of this: - Cordovin: Oh yes let's have Blake fire back at the already racist and stubborn old lady who's in charge of the military force stationed in Argus to further alienate and/or provoke her to complicate matters even more. - The drunk racist moron in Mantle: Keeping a low profile to move around the city w/o too much notice vs. going after the dude who's drunk off his ass which not only reinforces any negative views he has towards faunus but also alerts & calls attention to them in the process making things that much harder. - The racist old lady in Mantle: Blake wasn't even around to hear or fire back at her, so it did indeed fall to Yang the one there to hear it to fire back in her stead. You seem to have forgotten that unlike Adam, Blake was in the ESPIONAGE/HIDDEN side of the WF. She's not loud and never has been outside of when she's on edge and there's no downside to being abrasive, like with Torchwick. She's not doing the "toxic masculine" bullshit and actually THINKING. "shipping", try relationship & character development shit-for-brains. Ones that lead to not only further development for her and Yang as individuals, but also as a couple as they navigate a healthy relationship that is a first for both. Cause again relationships are character DEVELOPMENT and not a damn negative like morons like you try to act like. On top of that it leading into potential mini-arcs with Sun and him celebrating them getting together as well as solidifying his brotp w/ Blake. Oh but it doesn't end there, cause there's also BB in the future potentially becoming the figureheads of the reformed WF as a faunus/human couple that love each other with no care about what the other is to serve as an example for others. Thus tying into a nice endgame territory for the two within the WF subplot. Regardless they haven't stopped with Blake's dilemma over her identity either as shown via the "high vision" with herself debating her complex thoughts on the matter.
