I'd say this was hard to watch, but when my Great-Great-Grandfather who was a butcher in Ireland came to Canada in 1845, the main meat in butcher shops were deer and caribou, beef was a rich person's food.

Great job Blake! I know that you love saving animals, but what is the point when it just encourages poachers to catch more of these creatures because you keep buying them all so the cycle repeats all over again. I know you are doing this for the right cause but I hope their is a long term solution in the future! UWU!

I love the idea of you saving them, bc any animal no matter the species deserves a second change. However a tortoise isn’t much different than a cow, chicken, pig, etc. Tortoises are eaten and are a part of the culture there. It’s not what America does but that doesn’t mean you can just change it. That’s called colonizing

These people that sell these tortoises are supposed to be the most intelligent of all species, mankind, so sad they stupidly in the pursuit of cash destroy such a diversity of animals, including those close to extinction! Thank You for rescuing these abused, misused, victims of greed and exploitation! On a better note those saved from a horrific death now have a second chance at the life they deserve, afterall live and let live! I hope and pray people wake up and see that these are also seeing, feeling beings not there's to eat, sell or capture! I myself do not eat any animals, none I do not feel that arrogant and a way of life is a lame excuse! Thank You for releasing them.

@@silviavoss6411 true. I eat meat but I am not proud of it. I don't wanna be vegan and have to eat all kinds of different things just to get something you can get out of a chicken leg. But I would rather have a pet chicken than a plate chicken anyday. I just think that eating domestic animals isn't as bad not because they don't suffer but because they aren't harming the wild animals. It's still not good though.

I understand what your intentions are however, I think the best thing to do is encourage people not to buy these animals from the market even if they are to release them. If are just giving the people who are selling them money and encouraging to capture more of these animals. Another will take the tortoises place if you just buy them even if you are planning to release them.
