Awesome stuff. Might seem like a dumb question but I must know: How is it that he manages to single out his drums from his delay and reverb that is affecting his main oscillators? Because it seems that everything is coming out from one main output even though that output is going though his external effects. Is he looping his drums over a dry signal and then adding delay + reverb to his oscillators and percs afterwards? Thanks :)

@saadayad68973 жыл бұрын
This was a great interview. There's no reason for any hate here and here's why: The interviewer's knowledge on modular runs deep, just like Jamie's. You can tell these are two people with a love for modular setups, a discussion on modular can get very complex depending on what you focus on. Ahmet did a phenomenal job leading through the setup by going through the chain and pointing out specific modules. That's what this video's for! Keep it up, these technical videos are invaluable. Thanks for having Blawan on! 👍🏾

Nice! Question: how does this setup send everything into reverb without creating loads of low-end mud? Does the Big Sky have a high pass filter? I always wonder this when I see dawless sets using reverb and delay pedals.
@ahmetsisman16773 жыл бұрын
Yes, both pedals do have a high pass filter. This is very essential for such fx pedals in general.

I’m still fuzzy on how he uses the Rc 505. If he just has the one summed output coming from the modular into the looper, how does he add just one or two elements to the loop without constantly re-layering the master output? I’m scared.
@WavesOfAwesome3 жыл бұрын
also trying to figure this out, any ideas?...I think he basically only has the volume up on one sound at a time on the modular, makes a loop, and then mutes the modular before bringing the volume of the loop up?
@nightboom5123 жыл бұрын
All the sound you hear is coming from the looper, then he creates a new sound with the modular and loop it again. Also you can overdub existing loops and add some new. He's creating multiple layers of sound and with the rc505 he has 5 different channels / tracks to record.

Really struggled with this. The interviewer need to learn to listen instead of constantly asking questions before he gets a chance to respond. It comea across as the interviewer wants to ask questions he wants to know for himself and then move onto another topic when he gets the answer he wants. This is one of the main issues with music production content. Alot is either people who know their stuff musically but dont understand how to teach or they try to interview guests but dont know how to interview effectively. The latter is fairly easy once you are shown how. I am surprised though that the guest didnt got nuts and tell the interviewer to shut up lol
