Well, it's because Labyrs has a Kansai accent in the original Japanese audio, so it seems that the voice director for the English cast wanted to have Cindy Robinson do something of an accent. In most anime, Kansai accents are done in almost a Southern tone now and then, but it looks like Ms. Robinson has come up with her own approach with the accent she has chosen.

So in the japanese version of the game Labrys had a distinct Kansai accent. In Persona 4 Arena several characters comment on her distinct accent multiple times, so when localizing the game there was no getting around that, she had to have a distinct accent in the english version as well. Kansai accent is often localized by some studios into being a southern/texan kind of accent, but the developers of persona 4 arena went for something else, it's no less appropriate though.

Labrys and Yukiko were actually pretty close in Yukiko's story in P4A. Labrys' side of the story also goes a bit differently there compared to the other story routes. Me? Labrys' model was a predecessor to Aigis' model, ( Labrys was the 5th generation Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon, while Aigis is the 7th generation, iirc) so they can be considered as a sort of older sister-younger sister relationship. End up forgetting Labrys is supposed to be the older sister though when I compare their personalities.

I'll admit to not having much familiarity with P3, but isn't Metis more like Aigis' Shadow?
