Thank you so much for your video. It was very helpful! I have a question. My daughter doesn’t drive freeways so every time she gets her 2001 Toyota Camry smog check done it fails. The gentleman that does our smog checks said the computers in the 2000-2001 Toyotas have a glitch so I have to drive her car on the freeway over 200 miles at 65mph and then it will usually pass. I bought this device and was told I could plug it into her car while I drive it until the light turns green (Liquid Fuel Leak OBDII is what fails every time). Is it ok to drive the car while this device is plugged in? Thank you so much for your help!

You're welcome Judi! Ah regarding driving with the scanner plugged in, yes ii can be done, I would just be careful it does not interfere with controlling the car (gas, brake pedal, steering etc.) However most mechanics only drive with the scanner connected if recording live data from the car. For emissions inspection readiness, normally the scanner is connected at the end of each drive cycle (or periodically) to see if the system is ready (some cars need a rest period after driving to set the emissions status, so while some may change during driving some only change on the next drive cycle) Hope this helps, Cheers!

Hello, Can you give a review on the 430 version please? Especially since I see ZERO reviews on them. I've become concerned since Scotty Kilmer mentioned that generally speaking, these LESS costly bluetooth units can literally destroy your car's computer. Thank you!

Hi Michael! I will see if we can add the 430 to the list of scanners to review. In the mean time, what I can say is the Bluetooth enabled scanners have been in used for a long time in the industry, here are several I reviewed kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9enfc-Gqr2yaXU.html and kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j99iZLek2Mmlj5c.html and kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mpeneaRkzNnVYmQ.html That being said I seen Scotty's video (who doesn't love Scotty lol) What he experienced was a defective unit that caused issues when left plugged on the OBD2 port (this can happen with both a Bluetooth enabled one and Non-Bluetooth). This is something I cover in more detail here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l7xlnbSg29XFc30.html I think he definitely ran into the scenario described on that video where a factory "escapee" made it to him. When I was in the automotive industry we used to say even you have 99.99% quality out the door, to the customer that got that .01% (the defect) to their eyes is 100% bad quality since they purchased one and got a bad one which is true from a consumer point of view. But also as explained on the video the only way to ensure 100% you will not run into an issue is to never connect a device to your car (Bluetooth or non Bluetooth) but also as I mentioned, this may not be possible or viable. So far I have had it for bout 2 wks, but have noticed that literally every vehicle I have scanned to date (8) has shown emission faults. My moms 2023 Camry 22k miles all the way back to 2001- my Tahoe with 210k all have faulty emission systems.🤔

Hi Richard! Are they pending DTCs or Set DTCs? It common for some cars to have pending codes only to go away once the system (on the car) confirms they are false issues. However I would not expect the newer car (2023) to show issues already unless the gas cap was left loose or some other simple issue (check what the DTC code is for). If you still have issues you can also contact Blktec for tech support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFun well on one account (my Tahoe) you are right!!! I actually performed the "Dealership" I/M test and all but the evap vanished!! Now just gotta get it up in the air and run through that system physically and visually inspect!

Can you see the RPM's while driving? I am presuming you can leave it plugged in while driving.
