When the thermostats open and air escaping like this good idea to place cap back on and monitor level.No need to waste a bunch of coolant boiling over like that

As soon as this happens, the thermostate stays close, change the thermostate, but also change the radiator cap, If the problem stays check your radiator, problem solved, dont let a mechanic fool you that its the roof thats too low or your steering wheel is bad, if the colour of your coulant changes than your head gasket is blown.

@leeboyko
@leeboyko 11 ай бұрын
If your referring to oil mixing in the coolant that’s because part of the head gasket is leak between the oil passages and the coolant around block. This one looks like there is a leak between the combustion chamber and cooling around the block pushing exhaust gases into the coolant system

There is definitely something else going on with this vehicle if there is that much air in the cooling system. How long has the vehicle been running and why wouldn’t you use a no spill funnel to prevent the wasting of coolant?

That’s definitely a blown head gasket. I bet them bubbles smell like combustion gases, just had this exact same problem on my cat eye Silverado and it would just boil out coolant all out of the reservoir every time I drove it, I was having to put half a gallon, to a full gallon in it a day to just get back and forth to work, only for it to just blow back out and all down the passenger side of the truck. And even after letting the truck sit for a while till it cooled down, it still had lots of pressure in it, upper radiator hose was still hard and when I unscrewed the cap it still had lots of pressure escaping. So just recently replaced the head gaskets(they were felpro and only had 21k miles on them) and went with OEM MLS LS1 gaskets and problem solved 100%!

The coolant should simply pressurize up - filling the entire reservoir and overflowing with no bubbles , eventually once air out the coolant will subside down , put cap back on. Turn car off turn back on run it 1 mile turn off then turn on car should say low coolant on dash then a top up and good to go !
