Hi Neil! I really enjoyed this video! My interest in 3D Modeling has been rekindled! Many years ago, I was learning 3D Studio Max pretty well, along with AutoCad software...then I sort of got away from it all (darn work!!). This software reminds me so much of the ease how you can create assets & characters from cubes, cylinders, etc. I've done a lot of cool small sculpts with Monster Clay and CX5 (from Adam Beane Industries, which they don't make anymore...bummer)...but now, I believe I'm ready to get back into 3D sculpts on the computer digital side of things. I will definitely sign up for the free month of Skillshare course introduction, and get back into creating my characters! Thank you sooo much Neil for being an inspiration, and Many Blessings to you for sharing your vision with us all!

Hey thanks for sharing your work, it's awesome! I'm just wondering how do your solidify modifier kind of break the edges of the barrel when you're modeling it... I tried to recreate it but I could only do that by separating the planks and using the modifier on both of them separately...
@3DTudor
@3DTudor Жыл бұрын
After selecting edges, I mark seams and use that with select linked (L for shortcut) to select based on seams (bottom left) then split them based on selection and it separates the mesh for me :)

Mainly 3 places which would be Sketchfab - Pinterest and google. I also use Artstation and sometimes CG Trader. The software I use to put them altogether is called Pureref which is a free software and I have a video about it here - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h66Fdax0m76oYY0.html

@@3DTudor Here I am thinking I got good at Blender and seeing this being built in 9 hours... great motivation to work even harder. Agreed on waiting audience to grow bigger for live streaming since certain people with 100k-200k subs get around 100-300 people on the live streams which is a nice number. All in all, you're doing amazing work on the channel and hopefully you'll reach those numbers soon enough.

@@3DTudor Break up a large 9-hour video into several videos of 30-60 minutes each. The author of the YanSculpts channel records character modeling videos that last 10 hours or more in real time, and breaks the whole process down into several videos of 3 hours each. And people subscribe to him on Patreon to be able to repeat the entire sculpting process from beginning to end.

hiya. ok so i purchased the course but it says 2.9, just wanted to check if i bought the right course? or is there another one with blender 3?
@3DTudor
@3DTudor Жыл бұрын
Heres the link 3dtudor.gumroad.com/l/dungeonprops doesn't say 2.9 :) btw there isn't too much difference as regards modeling between them. The course that was made in 2.9 was the castle btw but you will have no problems following that course in blender 3 onwards.

Thank you for nice video. I cant find answer to one question. Is it good to model different objects and join them at final? May intersected edges make problem?
@3DTudor
@3DTudor Жыл бұрын
yes, don't worry about keeping everything joined unless your working with animation. Even then only in certain circumstances. Don't worry we have all asked that very same question a bit like how many polygons should a model have.

@@3DTudor thank you very much. I don't want waste your time but please reply this question with "yes" or "no". Can I use same method to model static game object? (Low poly, of course)

@@3DTudor joining method. is this suitable for static game assets? any impact on performance or visual?
@3DTudor
@3DTudor Жыл бұрын
@@ZakirFerhad No joining meshes is actually better for performance. The main issue you have with joined meshes is when you come to the texturing process so we normally bake them out separately. Hope this helps.
