*I've learned more in 30 minutes or so of watching your videos than I have in years of trying to learn blender.* Albeit 2.8 has changed everything for me, my first experiences with 3D as a kid was Maya. (My dad taught at Parson's for video editing, but the class often focused on editing 3D renders.) These new interface changes make Blender not just a contender but even easier to use than most 3D modeling software, and your tutorials make this super obvious and awesome. *Thanks so much for the effort you put into making so many of these videos!*

That bowling ball example really inspired me to finally make my first 3D game, because I wanted to do bowling. I like the idea of physics based games, and it seems harder than something super basic. I'm a programmer by trade, but I found out tonight that you can import Blender EEVEE shaders into Unity with a simple add on. I'm so inspired, I can't thank you enough for showing the use of the procedural stuff as well. I've used Diamond Square and Perlin Noise for a long time, but knowing I can harness that in the shader graph is super cool.

Parsons is a great school! In the ring with Pratt, SVA, and FIT in that area. I used to go to talks at those schools all the time when I was in NY. The SIGGRAPH chapter used to meet at Pratt. 2.8 is making waves and I really think it’s easier to model in it now than Maya as well, for “most” things. The interface change is a big one and it’s easier for industry veterans to learn now. It “feels” like other standards. I’m glad that these videos are helping you. Let me know if you get stuck along the way and I’ll help out as best as time permits. Thanks!

Tip: For the second Point Light having the exact inverted position than the first, you can just duplicate the Point, go to the Graph Editor, select both keyframes and Scale -1, that will invert the keyframes. Not english native I hope I explained well enough

In 2.81a I am now trying to export an image and have found the save to folder etc but there no settings for format etc so you save it there is a name and no file to import or see so this seems pretty stupid dont you think can anybody tell me where these are and how to put em in there is a place in edit prefs which gives you some but not all so files are still not going anywhere thanks for any help
@israelluz13115 жыл бұрын
I have a doubt. How do I rotate around the selected object? If it has one cube, and I add another one, while doing a spinning preview and looking around; it will be spinning around the first. how do I spin around what I added? Very cool your video👏👏👏
@KevBinge5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It sounds like you need to offset the cube. If the center or pivot point of the cube is in its center, it won’t spin with space around it. If you offset it by grabbing all the points/faces/edges in edit mode and move them, you’ll get the effect. Thanks!
@israelluz13115 жыл бұрын
@@KevBinge thank you! I could not, the spin is still focused on the center 😢

Im asking this as maybe you might suggest something I got a problem with rendering blender out as evee looks really good in blender but the quality does not export and it looks no good in other apps because they cannot support it the lights dont export and the effect is lost is there a way to do this maybe Im missing something also the transparent backround in blender renders out as black so do i have to do something else to get a transparent backgound to render as usual it all works but does not render as seen I am trying to composit in an app which I know and cannot do it in blender as it will take me years to learn that . thanks

I looked for this and couldnt find it these are beginner things and they are never addressed so I got to ask . blender has this evil thing with the gizmo you turn the object and it dissapears I mean dissapears its in collections not findable I know you can but I cant so A is there a shortcut and B when will they make a mover which does not twang that thang ok do you hear me I hope someone does

I`m trying to figure why the array is not working because the skull isent going around the empty and i`m pretty sure I`ve done every step you did more then twice. lol
@KevBinge4 жыл бұрын
Question: Did you apply the transforms? That’s crucial for it to work. Also, make sure you are using the correct axis I. The array modifier. If you did those two things it could be something else. Let me know. Thanks!

I followed the tutorial, with a different skull model because the download link doesn't work, it's very similar, but the skulls don't appear as metallic as in your video, It doesn't look too good, how can i make them look more metallic?
@KevBinge3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... if you up slide up the metallic slider and lower the roughness, you may get what you want. Metal is heavily reliant on environment too. More things to reflect, more metal looking to start with. Then it’s all up to roughness...

Im asking around about this because i havent got a clue whats happening so its to do with the new setup in 2.81a and the way it is exporting objs and so its now sending out obj and mtl which it may have not done before only now its complicated the whole issue so now my apps cannot find the texture files as it cannot see them . now Im getting white boxes so why is blender doing this its trying to make things better has not succeeded its made things impossible . This happens a lot with software upgrading and messing up workflow Iv had it before , the mtl which is exported is seen by blender but not my other apps so if you know what Im talking about tell what I can do , I tried all the work arounds that I can think of so far nothing any suggestions welcome
@nikrogers1234 жыл бұрын
latest info is 2.81a is exporting mtl seperately as mtl texture files used to be" blend 1" they were always found but now mtl is not recognised so has to be " copied " in export box but this tutorial was very old so I need to know what is going on today . I found this copy tag and tried it but nothing happened so how do I copy these files into the obj and is this how its done . thanks

I use a lav mic at the moment and record with OBS. I’ve also been running my audio files through Audacity to get rid of noise, and now I need to figure out how to bring out more presence. A friend of mine uses a Sony Cybershot , I believe, and likes it. From what I know from photography using a Canon 5D Mk III, lighting is make or break for people shots. A good phone camera that you probably already have with a couple of good lights can probably start you off well enough to be honest.
