I have a few problems: Every time I create the tracks they just either drift off of the wheels, or get flung off of them. I created the tracks so that they don't start touching the wheels and I did everything shown in the video. I also tried putting the tracks on the wheels, but to no solution. But these were with more detailed tracks and wheels, so I think the mesh might be messing those up. I did have some success with using primitive mesh shapes such as ones shown in this video -basic rectangular prisms and cylinders as tracks and wheels, but I did have constrain the individual track pieces' Z-rotation in the constraints menu otherwise the individual track pieces would rotate on their own. The second problem that I encountered was that after I got the actual track to stay on the wheels themselves, the tank became incapable of moving forwards. The wheels are rotating, but the track does not get propelled by the wheels as shown in the video. The wheels are just grinding on the track while the track refuses to move -basically doing a burnout on the tracks. I did end up getting the tracks to barely rotate with the wheels by increasing the friction on all of them to absolute max, but I don't think this is a viable solution because now another problem occurs. The tracks are too rigid, the tracks don't follow the shape of the wheels, but rather go in a crazy upwards direction. This causes the wheels to eventually start climbing the tracks themselves, leading the tank to pull a wheelie, start veering off course, and then ultimately have the tracks fall off. Does anybody know what might be causing any of these issues?
@MAcDaTHo2 жыл бұрын
I had similar problems, the tracks were drifting of, the seperate pieces were turning strangely, etc. @6:49 --> the 90 degree turn solved everything for me.

Can you make a tutorial showing the workflow of this model from blender to a game engine like Unity or Unreal Engine with the physics and constraints?

As far as I know, constraints and physics from blender can't be exported to game engines. It's possible to export animations which you create in blender using the rigs, and I would like to make a tutorial about that.

Your tutorial was great, it worked perfectly. I do have one problem and question that doesn't actually relate to the physics. Its about the curve modifier and tracks. Around the curved edges of the path, the track links will deform into trapezoids instead of perfect rectangles. Is there anyway to stop this deformation. Even if dont have a answer, thank you anyways for the great tutorials
@ArijanRace2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, it will always deform because a curve modifier belongs to the 'deform' category of modifiers. Keep the links thinner and closer to the curve, so the deformation is less visible. Thank you for the comment
