I wish the writers would let the krakoa era last longer or just let the mutants all go to arakko. The X-men have struggled for so long

I can understand why because their hatred for them is more than just them being mutant. They see it as you allow monsters like Sinister sitting on the council.

If I were part of Krakoa, I'd be more concerned about intergalactic empires finding out about the Sinister files. I'm sure the Shi'ar and the Kree wouldn't take kindly to bring annihilated, even if it was a different timeline.

Ohhh, maybe it’s the “fall” of X as in the Autumn of Krakoa… the leaves fall, things change, but deep down it survives ready for a new Spring!

We had like 4 good strong years of the krakoa era, and i just hoped it would've lasted much longer. I just hope that by the time Fall is done, that we'll still have Krakoa in some way or another cus i was finally enjoying my time with xmen comics

Has anyone on the writing staff pondered what exactly the mutant society full of healers, teleporters, reality warpers etc that live on a self sustained island need money for? 🤔 or Earth for that matter? They have a planet. The further they go into this the more I realize why Hickman left

I’m not sure about Cypher, he’s been playing his own game from the jump and while he was never part of the council he was privy to everything they discuss because of his connection to Krakoa. I always saw it as Doug thought himself the king of the island and just let the council “play” at running things while he made his own moves in the background

Can we just make Krakoa the new university? Even after you take resurrection off the table, all the scifi elements involved with this era of X-Men has been amazing and I'd like a reset that doesn't turn Krakoa into the next Genosha.

Lemme just start out by noting that I NEVER leave comments on anything (honest to gods, I think this is the very first that I’ve ever left on KZfaq), but, man, I just had to express my appreciation for you and your content, most especially your analysis and commentary on all things carrying an X. There are a number of great content creators doing breakdowns of comics, more than a couple of whom have a particular affinity for the X-Men-Comic Book Herald and Rob over at Comics Explained especially. CBH is good on the straight info side, and really good when it comes to predictions of what’s coming down the line, his delivery can just be a little flat from me at times. I’ve watched Rob’s content for years, but noticed something early on in his videos on Hickman’s 2019 X-Men run-particularly the issue that introduced Crucible-something that I since have not been able to unsee, which is a not infrequent tendency of his to fundamentally misunderstand or misinterpret key concepts or plot points. Now, I’ve been reading X-Men since I started picking up Claremont and Jim Lee’s last few issues of Uncanny off the rack, and they have always been the characters that I love the most. The Krakoan Era has for me been the best and most exciting period in their publication history since the end of Claremont’s run, but for a while I felt that content about these books was lacking a depth of understanding both of lore and sometimes context, and especially nuance in the discussion. When I discovered your channel, however, that void was filled. You know your shit-both in terms of comics and otherwise-you’re entertaining and fun to listen to, your analysis is intelligent, thoughtful, and nuanced. The perspective that you bring to the discussions, often on some of the underlying themes and subtext of a story will from time to time hit me with something that I wouldn’t have thought or known to consider, and that always enhances my reading experience, and further broadens my own perspectives even outside of the realm of comics. All that is my especially long-winded way of expressing my appreciation for the work that you do. As far as I’m concerned, you are producing far and away the best X-Men related contents on this platform. So keep it up. Cheers.

With this issue I finally realize why they did the sins of sinister storyline, it was to show that Moira was wrong mutants can win against humans. I has been showed in S.O.S and the beast timeline that was shown in the new X-force issue.

The whole thing about "they need trade with other Earth nations for resources" thing seemed so silly to me. Like... they are currently in the process of trading a metal with the intergalactic community that most factions would kill over. How the heck would they still depend on Earth nations, if there must be several planets ready to provide them with whatever they could need for just a few tons of their super metal?

This part of the story hinges on the world population having a very intricate grasp of alternated futures… that’s a tall order. However, since Moira’s GROUND HOG DAY power allows her to retain memories of and manipulate timelines with everyone totally understanding the various timelines better than world history… it’s a bit much- but oh well. We all want to see what happens after the fall, will there be a re-set to normal? Will the mutants come back better? Will the mutants all gain healing factors? I’m tuning in tomorrow

This makes know sense. Why stay on earth, just leave this planet. They don't need humanity not one bit. One thing that is true in a situation like this we would all be afriad, shit we were terrified of taking covic shots so i get that part.

Honestly if there was not so much doom and gloom around Krakoa I would be vary excited to see what kind of enterprise Emma and Tony would be launching to get rich again. Tony Stark could sell just about anything when he is not sauced up, and Emma Frost could command legions of people to make anything Tony comes up with... Plus even if Krakoa falls.. The mutants have gate ways into outer space.. they could worse comes to worse just go to AValon or go to Planet Arakka.. Humanity might not miss Mutants right away.. but they would sure as hell welcome them back should the planet get attacked by baddies like the Brood or what not.

I like many others, I am really over this "I hate mutants" story arc. I know its comics, but its extremely over done... I loved krakoa because of the change. Every other team has been though change that stuck around for a while. Avengers base is in a celestial head. FF has been progressively moving forward as well. Most of these other teams have solid foundations which enables better character development. Although I've seen character development here, it seems like its 3 steps forward and 4 steps back. All the time. Enough already. I'm not a big fan of DC. But there meta humans are equivalent to mutants. And while there are individuals/groups that dislike them, this same level of hate is not as prevalent. So it forces writers to come up with dynamic story lines. Some are hits and other are a miss. But why cant we get to that point. At times its just exhausting to read about mutants being hated...it doesnt even seem real that theyve saved the earth so many times but yet are quick to be killed to the point of extinction only to start all over again... If we go back to a mansion, I'll be done with the X books for a while. It is good to see the avengers more involved, although it seem minimal at this point. Other than that, I'm just ready for a lasting change...

Btw Nature girl kicked the 🍑 out of the current x-men team .Killing off Scott ,putting down Jean and Iceman with ease .They did them dirty there 🤣.Synch,Magik and Wolverine (Talon) couldn't do much against her either for some reason despite Synch to be able to copy dozens of abilities .

I think the other reason why destiny doesn’t have anybody listening to her is also because she has probably lost favor as well. While I’m sure they don’t know EVERYTHING that destiny did, they probably know by now that she knew well enough that some of this would happen and didn’t tell anyone. She just got mystique and herself up out of there and let everything else go to shit until mystique was no longer okay with that. And now thanks to mother righteous making mystique kill her, doubt has been cast on her the same way it was cast on all resurrections. Thanks to mother righteous as well, mystique doesn’t fully trust her to not try to manipulate her. Storm DEFINITELY doesn’t trust her either.

Honestly, I hate this so much. The X-Men is what originally drew me into comics, and Krakoa felt like a come up for my folks. I don’t want them to lose the island…..

I wonder if the seasonal structure of the Quiet Council will play a role as well in the Fall of X storyline. Consider how currently Destiny, Professor X, and Hope Summers are on the Autumn/Fall seats of the Council. The Autumn seats represented the idea of tradition and history, but them having Hope and Destiny in those positions makes me think the seats are going to be redirected towards the future of Krakoa and mutantkind. I mean X-Men has played with language well in this age, and Hope and Destiny are concepts centered on the future not the past. So yeah I see Charles being the last person to leave this section and them bringing in someone else. But who?

One thing I'm a little annoyed about when he talked about the sinister files is the point that the comic made. It didn't mater that it was only sinister, they gave him a seat on there government knowing that he would eventually betray them. No amount of blame shifting can change that fact.

Sinister is really more of a mutate than a mutant but their world doesn't care, they've always found reason to hate mutants n the 616 universe

Irene shouldn’t have raised her hand, which might be the mistake. Or was it that there wasn’t enough objections from the council? Would the blinding white nothing, might be pointing more towards the return of the Phoenix, because only Jean has access to the White Hot Room, and can even make changes to the timeline of future events. We may have to look out for Jean Grey and the classified book, alongside G.O.D.S. to see if the whole picture fits into what Destiny has to prepare for.

Ahhh bringing the point of Krakoa, what about Arakko? Wouldn't Arakko be the Yin to the Yan of Krakoa? What were the impact of Arakko when the Uranos decimated the Arakko mutants? While it looks bad, this issue has a saving point for Krakoa/Cypher, along with Rogue & Gambit/Manifold. It's an interesting direction but with superhero community, like the Avengers Unity, it might be promising in the works. Eventually, Orchis forces will fall, and the mutants will slowly emerge back. Gensis is returning, Arakko will be targeted and eventually Krakoa and the humans, which will pit Annihilation versus Orchis. We shall see.
