Beau hasn't gotten any better at singing since I first saw em in 2011, but god damn, his stage presence and charisma pretty much make up for it haha definitely still one of my favorites to see live

Jared is no joke.. so proud of him. Beau originally recorded these songs at a much higher scale. This is why he has hard time doing it live. Those notes can only be hit with lots of practice and vocal training.

Not really, almost any tenor can do that scale. The thing Beau has is that his whistle voice (I don't know if I wrote that correctly, I didn't knew the word so I had to use translator) is very high, so it gives the impression he is on a higher scale than it is. I believe that the real reason why he can't hit that notes is because of autotune or some program like that when he was recording the songs, specially in Looking Down From the Edge, wich is not bad really, and he compensates it animating during all the show. Yeah I get to record all the individual mic channels separate from the live mix, which means I get to mix the audio for video on my home mixing rig

Feel a bit sorry for Beau, for a start it sounds like he has almost 0 reverb or anything on his vocals to soften them at all so they are extremely flat sounding with no warmth which is extremely apparent when they are so isolated like this (Which isn't anything to do with the mix, I think that sounds awesome!). Unfortunately it highlights that his voice is quite thin sounding. However, he's obviously his own worst enemy by recording vocals in such high ranges which he knows he's going to struggle with live, especially combined with a load of jumping around! I've challenged myself to sing a few of his songs at home for fun using my condenser and I can "just" hit the ranges which I suspect is how he feels when he does them in the studio which would make me question wether the key is really in my comfortable range... Especially if I was gigging every night for an hour or more!! His voice is naturally very high so the struggle to hit such high ranges and it sounding quite thin doesn't always work well when live. It's most apparent on Hey Baby and you can see why he states that they don't usually do that song live, he literally needs the crowd to do the high bits by the end of a set and "Looking Down From The Edge" the quieter bits were badly off key and definitely a bad choice live as the studio version has reverb, harmonies and the vocals sit high in the mix so here they just sounded way, way off. I personally like Beau and feel that his voice suits BlessTheFall despite everything, he certainly brings the energy to gigs and in a live setting when you're present and getting into the music no one tends to sit there with a pen and paper and write down each time the vocalist fks up as it's more about the atmosphere. However, when you listen to bands like The Architects and see Sam Carter smashing the screams it does put things into perspective!

Beau sounds fine, it's just his mix is really dry. A big disservice to the boys, but I digress. It could use some wet reverb, or a slight delay but hes solid.

Man you would think after all the years of touring and recording vocals on the albums Beau could actually sing pretty good live but damn he sings allot out of key. Not hating or anything, I respect him allot and seen them a few times live but this band could be so much better with someone else doing vocals. (Just listen @ 8:02)

id prefer him to sit still and sound better tbh, that's what kyle did in wcar. once he stopped jumping every 2 seconds, the guy can actually hit the notes he says he can. maybe not perfectly. but still. this isn't very close most of the time..lol

Watch lives from Parkway drive, bring me the horizon, slipknot, Architects, while she sleeps for insane stage presence and energy. Give us energy, give us a show but first and foremost do ur job which is delivering "quality" vocals live.

chrisMusick I agree with you 100%, but at the same time, being on stage and singing can be very difficult, especially if you cannot hear yourself. He is pretty sloppy nonetheless, but it is a lot easier to be in tune when you can hear yourself clearly. Anyways have a nice day ☺
