Behind Luna and Rarity, I've got to say Starlight has certainly become one of my favorite characters from the series. Her background and personality mesh well and she's good at grounding the other characters when they can't see past their own way of doing things.

Not the premiere I was expecting but, this was still very exciting. First, movie references and shoutouts for the win! Can’t wait to see if there will be more tie-in’s later on. Second, the student candidates are a very cool bunch, I like them all. I’m quite fond of Silverstream myself though, she’s very cute and spritely like Skystar. When I saw the design of Chancellor Neighsay, I immediately gotten Doctor Strange vibes from him, not to mention the look of his magical abilities. I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of him though because he is very stern with all the non-pony individuals. So far, I’m liking where this season is going and I’m looking forward to what happens next. Great reaction, man.

This was an episode I only considered meh on first watching, but watching it again the past few days made me like it more. Good episode, Starlight definitely stole the show here. She also cemented her position as my 2nd favorite pony behind Pinkie Pie :)

I loved this premiere! While it wasn't an epic adventure I don't think that all of the premieres need to be an epic adventure. It was so great to see tie ins and straight up call backs to the movie, that was awesome! I know some people were upset/wary about this idea but I personally at least think that opening up a school is the most normal transition that the series has ever had. I love that the series continues to change the status quo, while this series is a family show and can be enjoyed by anyone, it is still a kids show and so many kids shows stay with the status quo, I'm hoping that MLP FIM will open doors for future cartoons and let them break out of the status quo. There were a lot of great interactions between characters, enjoyed the song. The series is getting incredibly creative with showing us magic. (Also as a minor note I really wanted to know why dragons breathed fire, lol). I don't know about anyone else, but this has made me super hyped for season 8! Introducing new characters and new friendship lessons so we don't continue to learn the same lesson, what could be better? Overall a great premiere, not sure where I would rank it but I really loved it personally Also stupid youtube isn't letting me spread out my comments so they aren't all together.

I don`t think Twilight almost forcing her friends into becoming teachers with the excuse of being a school of friendships is fair. Rarity runs several boutiques, Applejack has her farm which is short on workers, Dash is a Wonderbolt which was her dreamjob and needs to train hard on it, Pinkie has a job (she is the one that doesn`t seem to have much going on), and Fluttershy has a ton of animals she takes care of on her home plus all the animals in the sanctuary. Also love the Doctor Strange pony wonder if he will make several appearances along the season, or pull a Starlight only being in the background and the finale.

Ah, yay, good thing to come home to.

I don't think all the sea ponies lives on the surface now that they can leave the sea. There are most likely a small village in the previous abandoned town that was above the sea city. I doubt that ur forced to live above on the surface, I think roughly 60-80% still lives underwater and both have the option to leave, stay or come back. And it makes sense since the nation is called the Sea navy. So it would only make sense that most still live underwater.

What a good commentary on school

Call me weird, but I find you’re laugh really adorable. It’s mostly because you normally laugh over adorable scenes. I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.

The School of friendship. Another scene similar to Harry Potter like the restricted section in the Canterlot library. If Harry Potter would be the case the question is which student is going to be sorted in which house and which of the main characters is going to be head of the houses ? Maybe Twilight for Gryffindor, Rarity for Ravenclaw, Fluttershy for Hufflepuff and Trixie for Slytherin ? Another option if Duel Monsters would be a subject. In that case the students would wear blue, yellow, and red jackets and Duel discs. It would be awesome to see them duel. And what if Garble the dragon would be a student ? Maybe he would be the school bully like Sunset Shimmer in the first Equestria girls movie ? And I think Diamond Tiara's mother Spoiled Rich should have private lessons at the school. She's a real bitch! As for what I saw in the episodes: 3:38 Will Tempest Shadow appear in the season ? 6:30 At the top left corner the old pony with glasses is the pony we saw in episode Hearts and hooves day. 11:40 Ember it's not a good idea to force a child to do something against her will. 12:43 If Silver Stream is Queen Novo's niece than that means either her father Sky Beak or her mother Ocean Flow is related to the queen and Silver Stream's brother Terramar is the queen's nephew.
