Yeah, that SJA comment is a little bit interesting. Had he indeed checked in on every single living companion (what's "still alive" to a time traveler?), it would mean that he visited the Brigadier, which...(bit of a spoiler)...will have great significance in future stories, and it would also mean that he visited granddaughter Susan. Hmmm...

There is also the possibility that she is the Time Lady that Wilfred saw...the biggest hint being when Wilfred asked The Doctor who that woman was, the shot where The Doctor was looking was focused on Donna. Being part Time Lord she might be able to change her face like The Doctor. Also it is basically near enough confirmed though not offically that that woman is The Doctor's mother...meaning that Donna could be the mother of The Doctor in the future.

We never really find out who exactly that Time Lord woman was, but it's heavily implied she was SOMEONE close to him. When Wilfred asks him who she was, he looks first at him, then at Sylvia, and then at Donna herself in her wedding dress. Perhaps she was a parent, a grandparent, or a spouse, who's to say, but clearly she was at least important enough to make him not want to make enemies of the entire Time Lord species, or to wipe them all out.

11:48 Matt Smith spat on the Tardis console for a reason. During the shooting he got small debrits in the mouth but instead of acting like a diva and stoping the scene for a reshoot ( explosions included ) he did what live actors do, he spat the debrits and continued the scene for a single shoot.

One really great reference in this episode is when The Doctor is pointing the gun at The Master, and The Master says "You never would, you coward!" which feels like a nod to The Doctor's Daughter when The Doctor is pointing a gun at the general that just killed Jenny, but then he turns around and say "I never would. Have you got that? I. Never. Would." I think they are the only two times we see 10 hold a gun, and both times someone mentions that The Doctor never would.

The official stance is that there is no such thing as Doctor Who canon...which makes no sense, but that's Doctor Who for ya. The closest there is to a canon is the list of Doctors, everything else is pretty much whatever the current showrunner feels like acknowledging or ignoring at any given moment. I guess you could justify it as the Doctor's mother being only genetically human (perhaps conceived in the vortex and raised on Gallifrey), or file it under "The Doctor Lies", or maybe even the timeline being conveniently rewritten during the time war so what was true in the movie is no longer the case. Basically you can make up whatever justification you want until the show contradicts you, and then you can still choose to ignore it if it doesn't make sense, because there is officially no canon.

Two things you should know. 1: Everybody dislikes the New Doctors when they begin, that always changes by the end. 2: One of the outtakes for this episode was Tennant saying possibly his best line "I don't want to go", then immediately going "No, I'm resigning, you'll never be rid of me."

The song in the Cantina was from Daleks in Manhattan S3.Wilfred was brilliant, in space or not; the most beloved. Enjoyed the Spiderman moment. Thank you lads so much for watching DW. And thus marks the end of the 10th Doctor’s era. It’s been a great ride. This will always be my favourite era of Doctor Who and Tennant will always be my Doctor. The scenes with him and Wilfred are so great and very emotional, especially when he mentions how proud he would be if Wilf was his dad. I also like how The Master redeems himself and saves The Doctor which was unexpected. The icing on the cake is the twist with the four knocks. Perfect misleading that The Master would be the death of 10 when in reality it’s Wilfred’s knocking. The Tenth Doctor saving his companions and saying goodbye to them one last time is such a sweet but heartbreaking moment because the reality is that we will never see any of these characters ever again. Unless you followed Sarah Jane in The Sarah Jane Adventures or Jack in Torchwood, this was the final hurrah for Sarah Jane, Luke, Donna, Wilfred, Martha, Mickey, Jack, Alonso, Sylvia, Rose and Jackie in the main show. 10’s song has ended but the story never ends and Blind Wave are now entering a new era. Personally, I’m not a fan of the 11th Doctor. He was too silly and cartoony for my tastes but it will be interesting to see Eric, Shane and Calvin’s reactions to the new Doctor and the new era. They could easily end up loving the 11th Doctor or not. It could go either way. You either love or hate this era or find some middle ground with it. I personally lost interest with this era. Not to mention the world of DW got smaller in this. I imagine Shane will find it a bit jarring but time will tell. One thing for certain is that it will be interesting to see how Blind Wave react to this new era. That’s the thing about Doctor Who. It always changes and evolves for better or worse, it always revitalises itself which makes it more unexpected.

Totally understand what you are saying about eleven. Really felt that when first watching back then. Really hated him for a while. But he grew on me... Which makes sense. I'm nerdy, dorky and into kitschy things. Plus he's fuckin weird and I like weird. 🤷🏻‍♀️ He slowly stole my heart and then kept it. I loved and still love ten! He was the perfect Doctor, exactly right mixture of everything. 👌🏻

The reason it felt like an ending, is because Russell T Davis, the show runner left. He did the 9th and 10th Doctors, and Steven Moffat did 11 and 12, and now Chris Chibnall is about to start. So it really was the end of an era.

Fun fact: when we see the doctor changing into the new doctor and the tardis explode they filmed with real fire and explosion with David standing in the middle of it. Another fact: the line "I don't want to go" David filmed 4 takes of that one line one as him normal self, one as him feeling down, one with him starting to cry (the one they use in the episode) and the last take was David completely breaking down and crying but they thought it was better if the audience did not see the doctor completely breaking down. So they went with take 3.

Rassilon is basically Time Lord God. He - almost single-handedly - facilitated the invention of the TARDIS and the ascension of the simple "Gallifreyan" into the Time Lords, masters of time and space dominating. He was also an absolute megalomaniac and merciless autocrat (so more of an Old Testament kinda God), but it's kind of hard to say someone has "delusions of grandeur" when they INVENTED time travel and transformed their own species into literal lords of time and space. He's also more or less functionally immortal, as his consciousness was preserved in the Central Matrix of Gallifrey long after his physical death, which is why they were able to bring him back and have him resume leadership during the Time War.
