Plus, it's a 100% sarcasm that Mark Hoppus said that Blink-182 is am emo band (in case you missed out the sarcasm). Don't hate me for telling you this but it is the truth.

I remember one of the first songs i heard from blink was "All the small things." I was 8 at the time. The last album i heard from them was in 2003, and since then so much has changed for better or for worse. Between growing up and finding who i really am as a person. This band did serve as a part of my life. With my demeanor and "punk rock attitude" i had along with the influence of some other bands i used to listen to. And how some of it still carried over in my life growing these past 20 years. Looking at them now brings back bittersweet memories that give me mixed emotions, nostalgia. Whether it be for them as a band or me as an individual. Both smiles and a few tears has been shed. And if its one thing that i did learn, is to appreciate All the small things, in life. No matter what they are.

Okay so I didn't get it until now but Matt saying incorrect to Marks "starters of the emo trend" is actually super funny. Matt's original band (Alkaline Trio) started in 1996 which wasn't the start of the emo trend but I'd for sure say they definitely were a HUGE part of it.

I think as bands get older and especially once they've had success, they don't really care what you call them. Teenagers fight over who's really punk and who's pop and who's emo and who's pop-punk, but I seriously doubt Mark cares. If anything, I have the impression from the last few albums that he is excited to incorporate new styles and he doesn't just want to be the pop-punk guy after 30 years. He's going to make his music and people can call it whatever they want. So he just says "rock" because that is what their music is in the most general sense. Nobody can argue with that.

It is a little awkward. I feel like the interviewer should be a little more aware of the situation though. "What is 'All the Small Things' about?" "Well, no one you are currently speaking to wrote that song, so who knows."

@@bluepearl_22 It's not about any drama. It's just kind of dumb to ask people to explain what a song is about when they didn't write it. If you're going to ask what a song is about, wouldn't you want to ask the person who actually wrote the song?

@@inflago dude they are a band. It's not like everyone wrote their own separate stuff for themselves. They wrote for the band. Hence, it's not weird to ask about songs that Mark wasn't the main writer on. As a song writer myself, trust me it's not that big of a deal.

I really want to know the real lyrics for the line in Boxing Day. “Cast the bridges and the waters, the roofs left behind” “Cross the bridges and the waters, their clues left behind” “Just the bridges and the waters, cause we’re left behind” Everywhere you look says something different. And it is really hard to make out what he is saying, and even if so, what does that line mean????
