I have a friend I hire to help with work like that. He is from Mexico and he can do the work of two men twice as fast. Work his weight in gold. This country complains about immigrants too much but I often find so many hard working guys from Mexico willing to go above and beyond to learn, earn a dollar and improve their life. They are inspiring and help keep me from being too lazy working next to them.

So glad I found this channel! I hate watching commercial TV so to get to see a series like this is fantastic. One observation for an old guy who occasionally had Jason's job. He is great! It doesn't look like he is really good by just seeing him do various tasks but he is really "the Man." The way he uses his body and keeps the job going with mud mix and keeping it on the mud board to his block prep and placement shows he really knows his job. Way to go Jason!

The doctor lean back in the seat, looked at my friend real serious and said "If you are over 40 and it does not hurt some where....your dead" 😁 since then it has been a saying in my town. So welcome to the 40s Perkins. 😁

What you guys call a mud board in the UK we call it a mortar board, your two trowel sizes the block and brick are completly different. We have the brick one which are your block ones and pointers which are your brick ones, then we have gaggers which got your perp and bed joints nice and curved

Love that yall do the block portion of the job I will say being a mason for 17 years that you are laying the bond beam upside down the rebar should be laying in the slot after you lay it putting it in the middle of the core. Not on the bottom. Not sure if yall knew that. Great job none the less.

Came here to say that. I don't see the usefulness of laying the rebar on top of the course below. Pretty much negates the whole use of a bond beam, does it not? The horizontal reinforcement is now in plane with the grout line.

can add more planks on the scaffold set mud board on the planks not on the wall than mud the blocks all the way down than set set set. Sometimes I turn the knock out course facing up seems easier to me that way. The hardest part for me is to keep the mud board wet in the summer heat. Can set 700 blocks a day straight run cut joints and clean.
