I made this remix / mashup of Blondie's song "Heart Of Glass" with Miley's live rendition at the iHeart Festival.
Tried my best to "replicate" the "Edge of Midnight Remix" concept from Miley and Stevie Nicks' collab.

Debbie sounded awesome! I've never/will never see Miley Cyrus (I'm 61, lol!) but I really think that if anyone is impressed by the way she HONKS out lyrics as badly as she does in this video, they must be Hannah Montana fangirls/fanboys.

Deborah Harry spoke the lyrics with her naturally alluring voice, Miley got a beautiful voice and she screams the lyrics, but Deborah speaks the lyrics and it instantly becomes oh so sexy. Nice tribute, but nobody can top Deborah Harry on her song. Even the young fans who know Miley's very fine version then first check out Blondie's version can immediately hear and see the difference. That girl Deborah Harry's beautiful face was the poster of NYC's new sound in punk rock danceable music coming about and into the clubs in the 1970s.

Miley screams the lyrics, singing them beautifully, and sounds great. Deborah speaks the lyrics, effortlessly singing them, and sounds sexy. Remembering Blondie from the 1970s. Nobody tops the original. Miley does do a fine job anyway you can tell she is paying a tribute introducing many younger fans to Blondie's .music. She gives a rocking performance, opposed to the laid back cool, punk rock danceable feel of Blondie. You just can't beat that awesome groove. 1970s Blondie brings back a lot of good memories. Younger generation gets a glimpse of older generation's nostalgia in this song. Deborah preceded other worldclass singers/performers Madonna, Shakira, Miley, etc. She is the best of them, all. IMO. 1:07 doing her thing like no one else can.

@@CasFN Sexiest thing on MTV back in the day when it first started to hit the air waves is Deborah Harry doing her song, "Heart of Glass". I was 14, and I still remember. She wrote this with her co-writer and companion, founder of and a guitarist in Blondie. I think that Miley is doing her best paying tribute to Blondie. That is a nice way of thinking about it, I guess. It is really impossible to do this song and get compared with the original, Doesn't matter who else does it, you're going to lose to the original, Deborah Harry.

She does a good job, just not close to the terrific new wave/punk rock danceable feel of Deborah Harry's style. I would think members now of Blondie are really happy that Miley did their song, because it brings Heart of Glass to the attention of more fans, many younger fans. Also more money for them, let's face it. It's the truth and especially nice for the songwriters, Deborah Harry and Chris Stein. Anyway, Deborah Harry. ---> That girl is hot as hell on stage. Great song, brings back happy memories of my middle school and high school years

Cyrus did a good job. You just can't compete with a woman's punk nonchalant attitude of fame. Deborah Harry's nonchalant ambiance was copied the world over by other female singers of the era. It was sexy, impenetrable, and other worldly. She was perfection. She's a white gold masterpiece of womanhood, that today's singers lack. You don't have to tell the whole world your life story, leave a whole lot of it to mystery. Thats what Deborah Harry was in that era, a woman of mystery. And her voice was amazing. Blondie and Deborah till this day are so underrated. They moved punk into the mainstream.

There's something haunting yet drawing about Miley. At once disliking her but then... It's kinda like you know its bad but you can't help yourself. That said, I have a different viewpoint about Miley's voice. But first, OF COURSE the original is ALWAYS better. That's a given. Back to Miley... I think her voice is like smokey whiskey. Strong. Not good for you. But can't stop till the bottles done. I didn't think she was straining her voice so much as she was straining her acting. It came across as melodramatic. Unnecessary. As you've guessed, I'm not a fan of hers BUT... if by one of those miracles she should read this post, I'd hope that she'd get the message that above and beyond all her musically royal genes, she's actually got an amazing voice. I think I've seen evidence that she is actually maturing. Miley, don't try so hard. You got this! Relax and just be. Your voice is unique and you have nothing to prove to anyone except to yourself. Debbie transmite paz vs un constante stress de Miley. Debbie llega a los tonos altos de manera limpia y cristalina vs un tipico y manoseado desgarro en la voz de Miley. Mi gusto sigue siendo Debbie y perdurará por mucho mas tiempo.

Deborah Harry absolutely gorgeous with a naturally great body...... Miley works out to have a good body and all the makeup in the world would never have her look half as good as Deborah Harry in her heyday 👍

I like both versions for different reasons. I loved Blondie from the first time I saw her on Dicks Rock n New Years. She was one of my all time favorites. Her voice can be soft and gentle or with more pizazz like One Way or the Other. Miley on the other hand made the song her own by not performing it with the gentle tones Blondie uses. It made it more rock than pop or punk and gave an edge to it. So there shouldn't be a comparison because they both sang it differently with different styles...

Miley's vocal range is not anywhere near what Blondie's is. It is very apparent on the RIF. Miley simply cannot hit the range of notes that Deborah can.
