Dolly’s version is still the best imo. Miley has a much more powerful and technically good voice, but I still think Dolly’s voice was the perfect voice for this song. She inhabited the role of the person singing this song flawlessly. I do love this cover, though!! Definitely my favorite cover of the song.

Miley, when this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. This woman has been in the spotlight since she was literally a child. Her mistakes and lowest points will always be broadcasted to the world where as people like us are able to deal with our shame and breaking points amongst friends, family or by ourself. One of my favorite artist to be honest.

She is a phenomenal singer, and rather provocative artist in terms of her presentation to the public, and the insanity of her live performances rivals that of Kiss. I find her to be an intentional parody of modern sexualized pop music. She also released an entire album for free, cause she acknowledges she doesn't actually need to make money off of her music at this point. So I respect her.
