I did feel for her born with that IRISH Red Hair. Also felt for her only girl in a big IRISH Family of 10 kids. IRISH Familys are known for having lots of kids. Its True REDHEADS get made fun off. @Rose24681 Жыл бұрын
I think it has to do with the singer. Debbie had a sad and happy life, especially by the time she sang this. You can hear the happy and sadness in her voice and see it in her in interviews later in life. In the 70s she sounded more carefree. I admire her. She kept and keeps going regardless of life's ups and downs PS) One of my most cherished whitetail deer friends is named Denver. 💕🦌

Now she has a deeper voice compared to the first years. Everything is wonderful: The music, the band and the woman.
Debbie Harry really is one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. She really knows how to use her voice to stunning effect and this song is a perfect illustration of that; the sly stance and creamy tonality she stakes out in the verses and then her soaring, emphatic command in the verses--it's a masterful display of knowing exactly when and what to do. She positively makes you believe Maria is the most glorious girl you've ever encountered. What a persuasive and dynamic performance. It's a horrid shame Top 40 didn't get on board with this track. It was totally deserving of mainstream success.

Blondie had it all, great material, excellent musicians, and Debbie Harry, the cherry on top. It doesn't get better than this.

@@stephenhogue5567 Thanks...but it makes me kind of old! Was also lucky to see The Clash 5 times who was my favorite and the Ramones 4 times and so many other. They all were great back then; fun catchy songs and They all played with so much heart. Blondie had a very cool demeanor as the front lady and her band was always really good. Just a great show

Saw them in a small club in Munich late 70s when not so well known . The band all sitting at a table in the audience area as I walked in ...exchanged glances in passing but too cool for school to speak . As it was in those new wave days .. 😂😂 great gig

I saw Blondie in 1979, the second concert I ever went to. They were amazingly talented and Deborah Harry was hot. Her voice was amazing - no studio tricks here, she could sing! I saw Blondie again in 2017, almost 40 years later. The band was talented and Deborah Harry was hot. He voice was a little less amazing but she could sing with power and grace! I'd say that qualifies as ageless.
