Llevaba mas de unos 12 años buscando esta canción, mis padres siempre la ponían en caminó a la playa en carretera en discos de 100 canciones,cuando tenía unos 6 años y yo la cantaba bien mal (sin saber ingles) sabia que el coro era Maria!!! na na nanana y la empecé a buscar, buscaba banda tras banda a ver si la encontraba y no, y vi vídeos recomendados de Blondie y me sonó y me puse a buscar canciones de ellos y al fin la encontré!!!!!!! tengo 19 y al fin la encontré, después de mas de 12 años :')

I remember that this song was in my collection way back in early 2000s in a cassette.. I had completely forgotten this gem.. I was watching Hits of 99, where I caught this songs glimpse and came here.. And all the lyrics automatically came to the lips even after 18 years.. 'Walking on Imported Air'. I can bet, Todays songs are not even 10% of this. This was Nirvana

Ms Harry is plainly a lady who's been there, done that, bought the T-shirt but won't wear it, given it up for a while, did it again with the benefit of experience, enjoyed the whole mess, and will never, ever talk about it. It's a joy to watch her. And she is a rare rock singer who tends to stand to the back during the solo to give the guitarist the stage. A true pro.

Esta canción "revivió" a Blondie en mi país (Perú). Hasta 1999, yo conocia a esta banda por sus exitos de inicios de los 80, de cuando aún no nacía y por ello me parecían canciones super viejas. Pero esta canción sonó cuando tenia 16, fue un exitazo y es parte de mi vida musical :)

Can remember when Maria Sharapova won Wimbledon at 17 in '04 and the BBC used this in her highlights video. Gave me goosebumps then and now. Brilliant song and fit that moment perfectly.

it's an amazing vocal performance by Debbie. I simply can't find a cover that comes close, which is usually a sign of how difficult it is to sing well.

Couple of interesting facts about Debbie Harry: 1 - She has never married or had kids. 2 - She has been touring and playing gigs constantly every year from 1968 right up to today, 2024. That is 56 years solid on the road. Fifty six years.

One of Debbie Harry's greatest vocals and songs. Near-operatic vocals with crunching guitars. This is the mature Harry and she is wonderful. She was a graduate of Hackettstown, New Jersey's Centenary College (now a University) with an AA degree in 1965.

Who the hell do you think Blondie is genius? Her name is Debbie Harry (her adopted name by the way). From Hawthorne, New Jersey. That's who's singing. Do the research. Wake up BigDaddyCool42 -- it's embarrassing that someone with your "name" doesn't know that fact. Very uncool. You've been demoted. Delete the word Cool in your name. ++John LaStrada I'm wondering how on earth you describe Debbie Harry's vocals here as "near-operatic". A rush of blood to the head? I'm possibly pre-disposed against the song because of thon wretched drumming hammering away far too insistently and loudly. I've not listened to a lot of Blondie but I'm sure I've heard Debbie sound in better voice than that and on better songs. She seemed pretty ordinary to me on this track. And no, I'm not trying to do BigDaddyCool42 nonsense. I really am surprised to hear anyone rhapsodising over this track.

It's just an opinion, Trevor. I've listened to many Blondie tracks & Debbie Harry solo songs & for some reason, this song struck a chord with me. I liked it. I like the way Debbie performed it. I'm not a huge Blondie fan -- I don't have all their albums. But this one was a pleasant surprise for me. Maybe not you with this song. That's fine. I don't hear Debbie singing in this manner all the time. She's usually a little reggae, a little dance, a little rock but this song was just something I thought she did very well. Again, just my opinion. Many people would rhapsodize about Mariah Carey & her voice is grating to me. Nothing she has ever done impressed me because she showboats too much. And she is not the only artist who sings with that skill she has -- the late Rotary Connection's Minnie Ripperton had that kind of ability. You are right, there are probably other songs Debbie sings better. Thanks for being civil Trevor. Just dismiss it as an opinion -- nothing more.

++John LaStrada Och, it's interesting to hear other people's opinions - when reasonably expressed,as is yours. This track certainly didn't do it for me. However, I have sometimes found myself liking some things, asking myself why, and not having a clue for an answer. For instance, Casey Abrams does a version of "Sweet Child of Mine" with PMJ, and it makes my own throat sore just to hear him. Normally I detest that kind of "singing", but hey, I find myself liking it. No accounting for people's tastes? I canna even account for my own at times! The modern singer I'm rhapsodising about at the moment is Haley Reinhart. However, I can give a number of good reasons why I like her singing, unlike for a few other things I like! She is very distinctive, perhaps too much so for some folk, but a very talented and hugely versatile singer, Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz, pretty well the whole spectrum of popular music, including older stuff. She actually did a cover on American Idol of Blondie's "Call Me" which was really good, and then of course, I had to go back Debbie Harry's original version and found I liked her as well. (A bit unusual because most of Haley's covers I think are much better than the originals because she is a far better singer than many of the original singers like Britney Speirs and many of the male Rock group singers. Also the arrangements by Postmodern Jukebox are always different, often quite jazzy and funky.

Blondie and her great band have written a great, golden music history in the USA, but also worldwide. She and her great band are still beloved, appreciated, respected very much, She is one of the phenomenal, greatest music artists, her great songs have always come direct in our hearts and souls. Blondie is an iconic, fascinating, and great American music artist forever. She and her great band have got their own, special, great place in my musical soul and world. As I heard and listened to this great song, it shook my whole soul, I cannot forget that magical nice, great moment I love them, Blondie and her great artists in her historical orchestra and their great, golden songs very much. Orhan Baki, a phan by Blondie and her great band and retired Psychiatrist for child and adolescent from Şenlikköy-Florya/Istanbul-Turkey.
