Isolated across the rift, the Imperium Outpost Termina is plagued by revolution. The Imperial forces on the planet (led by their imperial commander, Kushon Maggrund) are tired of being ruled by an emperor galaxies away and shrouded in myth.
With the forces of the imperium stretched to their limits, every outpost, and the strategic positions they serve, matter. Captain Dantius Hashmal, a Blood Angels commander, has made the decision to lead a strike force to the planet, re-establish control of Termina, and make an example of Commander Kushon.
In an act of desperation, the revolutionary forces beckon to the vast nothingness of space for help against the angels of death. They summon forth an army of chaos demons led by manipulative commanders and brutal gladiators of the warp. The humans on this planet now have a choice, embrace rebellion and chaos… or cast off their revolutionary ambitions and help the Space Marines fend off a demonic incursion; the fate of Termina now hangs in the balance between good and evil, a battleground for Angels and Demons.

This kind of encourages me to try some 10th Edition (narrative)! I have an Ork and a Black Templars army from 3.5rd edition and with my current income (or lack thereof) can't invest into a brand new army. But if one of the best 40k channels on KZfaq can bring their Firstborn into the table, then so can I!

@@boonballer My army is all firstborn too so am in a similar boat. Thankfully the new jump pack intercessors are basically identical datasheet-wise to assault marines, unless you had a special weapon in the squad), so the old assault marines are still perfectly usable.

I love how the imperium is so densely populated but most city design is vast and unoptimized with statues and spacious structures everywhere. I guess the workers live underground or something

Amazing. I’m an Astartes player but you have to root for Nick. My heart broke when his valiant resistance was not rewarded in what turned out to be a crushing defeat. After watching at least 5 of Nick’s games, I can tell he desperately needs a new set of dice

Not to disparage the batreps since they're so awesome, but there hasn't been a single well-built guard list on play-on that I've ever seen. A lot of the wargear, unit, and tactical choices made are really questionable which make even a decently played army from any other faction really perform against them.
