The Bloom Lake Trail is located about 29 miles from Cannon Beach and Seaside, OR on Hwy 26. This is a family-friendly trail that is 2.5-3 miles round trip with 515 feet of elevation gain. The trail follows an old logging road for the first half and then follows a narrower trail to Bloom Lake.
Bloom Lake is in a beautiful location surrounded by Red Alder trees. It is even possible to find Rough-skinned newts swimming along the shores. We came across several dozen on the far end of the lake.

Wow...have literally never seen so much moss on trees before. "It's not pretty easy...because it keeps going up!" Love the little guy's response. And yet he finds spots to sprint in his boots. Awesome.

I love going camping out there! Been so many times. I wish I, or another person would have captured a beautiful (fort like area) near one of the “mossy trees”. They had used branches found in the woods, and natural ways to bind them to create a dome like appearance. There is so much beauty out there. Now that my body is more disabled, I prefer driving to bloom lake, rather than hike. Being stuck at home due to pain sucks, but being reminded of the beauty out there is a relief. Around the large tree with the “big roots”, my buddy used to hide crystals when visiting or camping.

I used to love catching newts when I was a kid, none toxic ones only in the UK. Nice big parking area and a nice trail and wow, I cannot believe how big your son is growing now - no more carrying him on your back now I guess. The moss hanging over the trees reminded me of giant spider legs and the lake looked real nice to walk around....'mother are you scared or what'....😂😂😂. Cheers Alan

It must have been so much fun to catch newts Alan, it seems like you have great memories from it. Our son has lost all his babyhood. It is bitter sweet :) I love that you see the tree branches with moss as giant spider legs! What a great hike. The mossy trees remind me of areas around here in the coastal mountains, but much nicer on your hike. The trail looked really nice, and those newts looked huge. You all looked fantastic, and you might have to watch out for little man, he just may steal the vlog from right under you two. LOL. The moss is absolutely mystical....the ferns look like they grow all year round...Otis would not like that tree trunk, but could be encouraged with a little treat...loads of nesting salamanders in my garden in the spring...not sure why, but they sure seem to like it here...thanks for such a great hike!

It's good to see a new video from you guys! The hike was beautiful especially with all the moss on the trees! It's good to see little man talking a lot more on camera. "It's not pretty easy because it keeps going up" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. You guys really lucked out with having the Lake to yourselves and spotting all those salamanders! The footage was incredible and I liked how you change up your music style in this one. The fact that you guys used 3 different songs I believe in this video is great. I wish I could do that but finding good music is so hard to come by. Great seeing a brand spanking new video from you guys and nice job on it!

It was so lovely, we were surprised in a good way. It was a good workout to get to the lake but it wasn't hard. We crossed path with one person and the lake was so peaceful. If was exactly what we needed that day. The newts were the highlight. Thank you so much Nicole! I hope you're well.

Thanks for the vid, I hiked in there 10 years ago with my dog Gifford, only to find a road near by... oh well. I remember it as a very nice little lake.

Je commençais à m’inquiéter...ont avaient plus de vos nouvelles et pas de vidéos ...j’imagine que vous deviez être occupé à autres choses que youtube...Lol! 😉 Le boisé est très beau avec la mousse sur les arbres ...une forêt humide. Je crois qu’il fallait pas tomber dans la piste pleine de bouette 🤪.Petit homme grandit et parle beaucoup il est bien mignon 🥰 C’est incroyable le nombre de salamandres qu’il y avait là 😳. 1:48 looks like a movie scene! Wow! You got some good dynamic range there! That's an awesome forest. I love all the greens and humidity. Great video as usual, guys. Did you use a LUT here or is it the color as captured by the camera?

That scene is one of my favorite clips. It was captured by the camera and I color graded it a little in Adobe Premiere Pro.
