Completed December 2015 this is a 355 Chevy. The bottom end was built to handle up to 850HP. It has a Scat forged crank and rods, forged Speed Pro blower pistons, Dart aluminum heads, Comp Cams .575 lift solid roller lifter cam and Harland-Sharp roller rockers.
Blower is a 3-lobe Weiand 6-71 with boost referenced 600 Holley carbs. I expect 600+ HP on pump gas.
I had several problems with the carbs at first that caused it to run extremely lean. Watch the bends in the exhaust turn blue. In the end it was running much better but I need to open the carbs one more time to change the main jets for leaner ones now.

It runs fantastic now. One of the carbs just would not flow fuel in the primaries. Finally replaced them with remanufactured Holley 670 blower carbs. They worked perfectly after simply adjusting the floats and idle mixture screws. Talk about a cool running motor. It has a 3/4 inch restrictor instead of a thermostat. Drove for 1 hour in 70 degree weather and it never got over 150 degrees. Let idle for 30 minutes and it never exceeded 180 degrees. Idles at 800 RPM.

Got a 355 crate motor (no blower) in my T-Bucket. Love it! Started it in the chassis with open headers. Soon one of my neighbors came by. Found out he built engines for the local stock car crowd. I sense some modifications in the near future.

what size cam are you using? Roller cam?

+Flint Barnes ...... The cam in this motor is a Comp Cams solid roller, .575 lift street blower grind. Actually runs very smooth once tuned. Kind of wish it loped more but da@# it's fast the way it is!

+matthew finney ......I sold the 383 CHEAP! Only $8600. It is now in a 1948 Anglia driven on the street by a 70 year old Hot Rodder.

hang a trans and converter on that and you wont see the same characteristics seen here , then you will know how it runs and can dial it in..right now..theres no LOAD on it anywhere..
