Agreed. Their ability to sing in another language has grown enormously in the 3yrs since this recording. It's a testament to their work ethic and desire to constantly improve their art.

Agree with you 💯 re Forestella being the best vocal group on the planet, but I have to add that I have heard so many artists of all persuasions and some of a certain prominence use terrible diction while singing and for most of those, English was their only language they speak or sing in, no-one batted an eyelid or nit-picked about it like some are doing here with this South Korean Crossover group, Forestella. It’s the first time I’ve heard anyone say their diction was distracting…sounds nit-picky to me. Most acknowledge the difficulty of the Korean alphabet lacking certain letters that are in the English alphabet but add that they understood every word clearly.🤔

Could do without the ridiculous theatrics at the start and lessons in diction of all things… or did I miss the fact that this was an English test for the right by Forestella to sing a song in English? And for goodness sake, if you are going to nitpick as reactors then don’t nitpick by confusing the word ANNUNCIATION with the word PRONUNCIATION …the two words have totally different meanings .… the irony of it all..giving English lessons and even worse, that some people here in the comments say that Forestella is WEAK in English! That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard…these Korean musicians are not weak in this particular language that they sing more often in than the other languages besides their native Korean,… they are constantly improving in all areas since they debuted in 2018 and also since this performance in 2020….and really their English singing did not need MASSIVE improvement at all, quite the opposite in fact…just a little tweaking here and there….which they have. And fun fact…In South Korea English is taught in schools in some cases from kindergarten, and usually from elementary school onwards and it is mandatory to learn it and it is a very basic English. Though most are not proficient in giving dissertations in it, they do understand it and can read it and can exchange pleasantries and address audiences. Forestella is more of a standout in this regard as I find their proficiency as far as singing in the language to be quite high. English is my first language, though I can speak another fluently and have studied a third and can attest that English was the hardest of the three…so let’s give them a break.😅

MinGyu picked voices that complimented his the best, and presented that wishlist when the time came , but ultimately it was out of his hands as the producers were the ones who had the final say. As it turned out, he got the team he wanted 😊

They have many covers in Italian and Latin too. Cho Mingyu has done some exceptional Argentinian tango’s as well.

Actually they speak English just fine albeit with an accent. MinGyu the leader is the most proficient, followed by Woorim the bass, then Doohoon and HyungHo. It’s not a language required to be spoken on a daily basis by them, so confidence has been more the issue but have been working on that.

They can speak some English and certainly do understand it, but they have no need to speak English on a daily basis so aren’t necessarily going to win any debates in English any time soon. Confidence in speaking a language only comes with practising speaking it everyday and thinking in that language. They sing in English beautifully though. I can actually understand lyrics they’ve sung better than the original British or American artist !😂

Sometimes it translates as faint praise…you know..a bit like ..someone patting you on the head and saying : there, there, at least you tried. You’ll never be better than Freddie Mercury or Queen ….oh and by the way I’m going to ignore the fact that your English is pretty darn good and I’m going to nitpick your diction in 1 or 2 spots of a 6minute long song. We all know Forestella pays homage to the original artists they cover and make their own version of it with arrangements to suit 4 voices..they never pretend to be the artist or seek to outdo them…how could they? And the theatrics on the floor insincerely saying it’s the best thing they ever heard but then proceed to nitpick about the English language while themselves using incorrect language ie annunciation instead of pronunciation🙄 Look everyone can have their artist preferences, but honest and fair critique should still be delivered without exaggeration.

This is not entirely a true reaction…. some errors and misconceptions need to be addressed for new and future Forestella fans who might read this. And the silly theatrics of falling on the floor in ‘amazement ‘ is just insincere. Forestella’s english in this performance is just brilliant for people who do not speak english as a first language. Diction issue? … where? 1 or 2 letters are not an issue… They are South Korean and are native speakers of that language. There are plenty of musicians today that do not pronounce their lyrics clearly… and one particularly high profile one. Forestella do not pretend to be flawless english speakers/singers. However, Not one person listening to this performance can honestly say they did not understand every word in this song here. In fact Forestella is usually praised for their excellent english and their pronunciation. It is actually laughable to criticise someone whose 2nd language is English using incorrect English …the word pronunciation and NOT annunciation is the word they should have used. THEY HAVE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MEANINGS. It is a fact. These 2 men only speak American English, criticising a band that sings fluently in 7 languages albeit with a very slight accent. Forestella is not trying to copy or outdo Freddie or Queen… or sit for an English proficiency test! ….what they do is pay homage via a cover of the original… they make it their own version because they have to arrange the music according to their voices’ dynamics. I do believe that people can like or dislike a cover performance of their favourite songs according to preference , that is their right , but there is no need to nitpick and clownishly critique to this degree JUST to make a point. Queen never did perform the middle of this song live on stage .. ever! They admitted it was too difficult and put on a multi track recording for that quadrant part, left the stage and then May would lead them back on again with his guitar playing. It is a fact. FORESTELLA ALWAYS SINGS THE ENTIRE SONG LIVE… especially that difficult part that Queen couldn’t do live. Forestella have done it countless times now and this global viral video is how many ,now devoted fans , discovered them. They deserve some respect for producing such a worthy rendition of this iconic song as well as We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You
