Blowing up a motor sucks. However, if you are not careful, it will lead to much more damage than the engine itself. That is where a lower engine containment device comes in. AKA, Engine Diaper.

AMEN TIM... Back in the day racing Prudhomme, it was the first race we were running top and lower NEW blankets... and she let go in high gear... and ssved the car crossing the finsh line. I am one proponent of blankets from hat to belly pans... as we have yet ( knock on wood... ) to fab and run a car wihout FULL safety gear... whether mandated or not... and kept in cert' before that date, lol. There has been a great need for all class racers to be required for what we have been running for over 25 years, as they say... " ONE OH SHIT, ERASES ALL THE ATTABOY'S ONE EVER RECIEVED "!!! Glad to hear your reinforcement of the gear that can and has saved life,limb, and up to hundrede of thousands invested in our endeavors. Respectfully, Seth

I hear you loud and clear. I had on on my car I ran in the street class. A daily driven Foxbody. just a 12 second 1/4 mile car. But it was bought and put on for everyone but me. I didnt wanna see anyone wreck their car or get hurt because of some weird shit happening.

6.50 1/8 mile car here. Have had a diaper on mine since I was running 7.80s

My first pass it chucked 4rods, luckly i wasnt going fast, but after that i knew it needs a diaper, just tricky to find one thats for a front sump ls

We bracket race and double enter our class in many cases, my question is how much heat do they retain in the engine and engine oil ? We do not run alcohol so cooling in between runs gets difficult.

Unfortunately we don't have the greatest answer for you... Like anything in racing, it will depend on your set up. Stroud may be the best to answer this for you and may have some options that suit your needs and application.

I've been around this game for a long time also, it makes me sick to my stomach when I watch all these morons stand shoulder to shoulder on a starting line, when stuff breaks it is coming out underneath the car. Also when rods turn loose they're going to poke a hole through all that crap, you're still going to get oil on the track, I have broken Motors were there is only one rod left in the motor the rest went out of the oil pan.
