You are my saving grace!! I am so glad I came across your videos!! I've learnt more from you than years and years of going to different hair salons that always promise the best products lol and believe me it's been a disheartening quest! I suffer from complex PTSD so there is strike 1 against me due to having extreme cortisol levels and certain medications. Second strike is I have fine hair, and from watching your videos everything I've been told I need to do has been COMPLETELY wrong! I thought things might have been looking good as I had my son a year ago and my hair is the longest it's been in years not to mention thick, now I know they say you lose all the locks you gained when pregnant but I didn't experience that too badly and I've still kept the length. It's just in the last month I've noticed when i was my hair now, I'm getting clumps of hair coming out as well as when I brush my hair. It's absolutely killing me because it makes my already low self esteem even worse which is just the fun of complex ptsd (just in case, that was sarcasm lol). Thank you for the work you do! I Love your videos and will probably have watched all by the end of the day lol! 😅 Kate

Hey I’m just throwing in with others I see that suffer from dandruff/dermatitis. I would like to see what you think/recommend. I bought the trinity pack and just started it. I’m mixing in my anti-fungal nizoral (not otc) when I shampoo. For any other sufferers on here I’ll post how it works. Also wanted to thank you for your videos! I never knew how to properly take care of my hair/scalp. I didn’t know about massaging the scalp to clean it and it definitely is helping. I also use fluocinide around the scalp edge. Good luck to everyone on here.

Love this, ty you for posting! Have a question though….what do you do if you have oily scalp even though you’re washing every 2-3 days with clarifying shampoo as first wash and using a second shampoo for 2nd wash? So using clarifying twice a week and still dealing with extra oily hair and also worried about stripping my color that I just had put in my hair as I just had it darkened. What should I do diff in my situation?

I occasionally like to use Neutrogena T-sal if I see dandruff. How do you feel about that as a first wash (if needed)? I’m currently using the Redken Volume injection on my fine hair. Also, I want to sincerely thank you for what you do. I never knew what to do with my hair, and seeing beautiful hair all over social media got so disheartening. It’s so stressful having tons of products and routines pushed on you, and never seeing results or feeling polished/presentable in a sustainable way. I just started your routine, but I’m so happy and relieved so far!

I personally use Selsun Gold (it's a treatment that my GP recommended and I'm glad he did) for my dry scalp issues once or twice a week when I wash my hair, for about 2-4 weeks, so until it clears up and add extra 2 washes. I ONLY use it as a first wash and ALWAYS follow it up with a hydrating shampoo, then either a mask and/or conditioner. It works great, scalp feels good and clean- doesn't get dried it out, if I would only use selsun gold then scalp gets itchy dry which defeats the purpose. Hope it helps😊

Hey ! Loveeee your videos and just ordered Redken cleansing cream on your suggestion. My question is about the using order. So I should Use Clarifying shampoo first , then right after it a wash with my regular shampoo and then conditioner in the last. Am I right?
@melaniephillips8556
@melaniephillips8556 Ай бұрын
Yes clarifying shampoo first. You want to get that oil and junk out first so you can remove it and rinse it away. Then with your second wash it'll be easier to wash off the rest of your hair and rinse that buildup down the drain. Using the stronger one first allows the product to work like it should and have nothing (like other shampoos) preventing your clarifying shampoo from getting into your scalp. I had a similar question because I was using a bond repair hair growth shampoo with a purple toning shampoo. The way it was explained to me is if I used the purple first then that buildup would be left on my scalp/ hair preventing the hair growth and repairing ingredients from penetrating my hair follicles and scalp by using it second.

I actually notice that I have to use clarifying shampoo 2 times a week and then I follow up with a deep conditioning hair mask. Then when I style I use redkin acidic leave in conditioner even putting a bit on my scalp. Then I hit my lower mids and ends with morrocan treatment oil to lock in the moister like you say to do. I can go 3-4 days with clean hydrated hair. If I notice my hair is slightly dry on the ends I put it little bit more of the redkin leave in conditioning concentrate. Thanks for teaching us how to have healthy hair. My hair has greatly improved do to watching your videos. Is it OK though for me to use clarifying shampoo 2 times a week? My scalp seems to be the healthiest doing that... but I also really make sure to hydrate it with conditioners.

I know that some medications cause fatty acid deposits on the hair, making it impossible to color the hair evenly to the desired shade. I know Kenra makes a product called "Special Purpose" that will remove these fatty acids to enable you to color your hair to the expected shade without off tones. What drugstore products are there whereby you can strip these fatty acids off your hair in order to color your hair to achieve the desired result?

Is color security shampoo a clarifying shampoo?

Chris, can you explain what a chelating shampoo is please? Was experiencing over production of sebum and needing daily washes then switched to professional shampoo that was too drying. Now my scalp has some kind of dead skin like buildup and my hair is shedding from the follicle and it feels super dry at the ends. Using only shampoo, conditioner and leave in. However some thing isn't quite right. The scalp is itchy and the buildup kinda goes away with a clarifying shampoo every 2 weeks but can't strike the right balance for moisture and manageability. Wash and go styling type 2b hair. Can look 2c when it's healthy. Please help! 4:45

Hi! Our daughter is a swimmer and she has gorgeous hair. Any hair routines for seasonal and year around swimmers? Thank you. (Yes, she wears a swim cap, but hair still gets wet in a swim cap). :)

I was a competitive swimmer for years! Getting her hair wet in the shower before putting on the cap and getting in the pool will help. That way the hair shaft fills up w/ up with the non chlorinated water

As long as it's sulfate free it shouldn't. I use loreal ever pure clarifying shampoo and conditioner and I have color treated hair. My hair actually looks brighter and nicer with the clarifying shampoo not dull and lifeless.

What are your thoughts on Olaplex Clarifying Shampoo? Can this work as an alternative? Some of us can't use products with wheat or gluten in them (and the Redken clarifying has wheat protein in it). Any alternatives without wheat?

@blowoutprofessor what do you mean when you say only use clarifying shampoo on 1st wash & normal shampoo 2nd wash? Do you literally mean wash it twice on the same day, or the 2nd wash that week?
@melaniephillips8556
@melaniephillips8556 Ай бұрын
Wash twice in the same day/ wash. It's called double washing and is extremely recommended with any kind of shampoo you use. Just don't double wash with clarifying. Clarify first then wash with your other shampoo right after you wash with your clarifying wash then condition
