my piano before restoration had many failed bridle straps and when playing quietly the pianos would often get stuck at the string

Are the bridle straps glued on usually, or does it vary from piano to piano?

A treble hammer has not re-entered because its pin is stuck in the bushings of the flange?

No I think what you’re talking about is the jack. It has to be able to easily get back under the hammer butt. If the shanks are resting on the rail then the jack can get back under. But if it was resting on the jack then the butt falls lower after the strike and the jack can’t get under as easily.

I have a note where the hammer barely moves and the Jack let’s off . The note sounds okay but feels spongy .The note does repeat but occasionally gets stuck . It doesn’t matter how I adjust the key off button . Could it be a stiff Jack flange needing a smaller pin ? . I replaced the Jack spring and bridle strap . I feel I’m missing the obvious !
