even after 10 years old, i still can teach my blue heely new tricks like sniffing out bags of weed, cant believe it took less than a few minutes to turn him into a drug dog

My Bella is the most affectionate dog you can imagine.with people she knows. But with strangers who invade her space or appear to be aggressive toward my wife or I, she’ll take your face off! I like those traits!!😊👍

Yes. Our Jasper will be friendly if he sees we are friendly with someone. If you tried to approach him without us being there, you really shouldn’t. Any livestock or wild animal that’s being aggressive, he immediately jumps in front of me to drive them away. It’s instinctive behavior because even as a 1 yr old, he knew to do this without any training. Best dog I’ve ever spent time with.

I once had a bad night. I was sad and decided to lay on my front steps and stare at the stars. My blue heeler Ruby became noticeably uneasy. I think she did not like me being in such a vulnerable position outside. She laid down on the step next to me, and she placed her chin across my neck. I dozed off, but was startled awake because she had begun growling with her chin still laying across my neck. I opened my eyes and just laid there for a moment until i heard someone walking through my grass in my front yard. As the person approached i heard a voice say, "Ruby, its just me" and recognized the voice as my best friend whom she knows very well. He got a few feet away from me and Ruby lifted her head off of me, showed her teeth, and started to snarl. It was clear she was not messing around. I said, "Its ok, Ruby." She instantly stopped snarling and licked my face. I was thoroughly impressed with how protective she was, knowing i was in such a vulnerable position, even against someone she knows well and knows is not a threat. Also, with how quickly she stopped by me just simply telling her its ok. Incredibly smart and loyal.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a heeler bark aside from a warning bark. They’re pretty well known for their silence with the exception of growling when they don’t want to be messed with.

My red heeler barks at me (just when I’m hyper or hyping him up) or when he has to use the bathroom. Otherwise they’re pretty chill. Just slightly crackheads 🤣

The closest you can get to owning a wild animal!!!!!! Some people say that they are working dogs. I think that they are just Fun Dogs, who just happen to love being kicked in the head by Cattle.😂

U have a pup that will stick to U like super glue, U will never go to the bathroom alone as of now haha but also have the fiercest protector u will ever have who will literally lay down their lives for U and your family but they always have that 1 special person who they adore more than anyone else if it ends up as yourself U are so lucky and have the most loyal mate for the rest of their lives.

She's already smart. Training will make use of her intelligence and attention will keep her from using it to cause trouble. Boredom gets kids and dogs into trouble

They can be territorial and aggressive if left untrained and unsocialised. They are not for first time dog owners.

If you have one that doesn't like to be fenced in, intelligence can be an issue. It took a couple hundred bucks and nearly a year to get my back yard escape proof. Gypsy was so smart she started sneaking back into the yard before I got home. I wouldn't have known that she was still getting out if the neighbors hadn't mentioned it. Luckily she never ran away. She would just lay down on the front porch and watch the neighborhood

and a long long one at that. I do not know any human that will run a Heeler out of energy. Our girl (1/2 Blue and 1/2 Border Collie) loves other dogs so its nice to let he blow off that energy at the parks. Even it means spending 2-3 hours there.

Can confirm. Looking after my brother's Heeler. He used to be a stray, so has quite a few aggressive tendencies and isn't totally good with other dogs. He's a huge handful.
