As an Angels fan, not much we can do but watch. Very strange there has been practically no leaks in regards to ohtani and angels. I don’t think any angels fans expect him to return (of course that’s all we want) but ohtani to the jays seems, unlikely. Honestly, it’s the dodgers or angels. Those are the only 2 options.

I haven't read the article by Shi yet, but if he says what you're saying and he's blaming the fans I can kind of see it to an extent. Just in the beginning with the detective sleuthing with the plane and people getting excited from that. After that point, it was no longer the fans fault, because that's when baseball reporters were jumping on. Was it the fans fault for the hype levels it reached yesterday? No, not at all.

Firstly, It would be awesome to get Mr. Ohtani (plan A) for obvious reasons..... Secondly the Jays pitching was awesome last year. The issue was the hitting. If they could have hit consistently, they could have went to the big show. If they can pull off a deal with a couple good hitters (plan B), they certainly would be top contenders for the world series in 2024. Too bad Mr. Soto chose the Yankees. I've been following this from the U.S. and can say that everyone bought into what was supposedly going on. Sports media in Washington D.C. were all over this story, and I was giddy with anticipation. So much so that my friend was making fun of me the whole time for focusing on the flight path of a plane that no one knew was on. Today I read the Davidi column and felt embarrassed. There are wars going on in the world and people are killed by the minute, yet here I am wondering if Ohtani is going to sign with the Jays. I know Davidi is going to take some heat for this, but he's kinda right. There are a lot of really smart people who get caught up in something that is pretty much irrelevant, but his column was a bit of a dick move. Davidi is a corporate voice for his owners at Rogers. Everything he says or writes is written through the lens of his bosses. Which is why I don't understand why he'd take the piss out of people who buy the tickets and essentially pay his salary.

Although this has no significant impact in my day to day life, my personal opinion is that this was not cool on the part of Jon Morosi and J.P. Hoornstra. I somewhat agree with what Shi Dividi said because the majority of us (me included) chose to believe what these 2 said right away instead of keeping a level head and waiting till more sources confirmed it. We still don't know what the end outcome is but if Ohtani doesn't sign with the Jays, both of these guys will lose alot of their credibility especially Hoornstra who writes for Dodger Nation. When you are affiliated with one of the final teams and proceed to publish an article claiming another team signed said player when that was not be the case, that's dirty in my books. Again, we still don't know how this will play out :)

Dmac ( owner of Dodger Nation) is a good guy, and doesn't necessarily do click bait. Dmac has been courting and rooting for Shoei in LA , since 22' trade deadline. If it had been the Blue Jays, then Morosi would not have even gotten the credit for breaking the news. JP Hoornstra with Dodgersnation reported it as Ohtani having officially made his decision more than two hours before Morosi. So he got it wrong and wasn’t even first.
